What would I do? I would donate them to my local shelter or crisis pregnancy center. I figure they've already been made so it would be dumb to waste them, but unless they are 7th Generation (which we have to use at church, no cloth) I won't be keeping them!

Wow Im The first to leave a comment!!! Well I know that having a baby is very costly so i would be donating half of them to the food bank/womens shelter and half of them to our Health Unit to hand out to families that are in real need. I use cloth and i think even clothdiapers should be introduced to everyone. Even with the cost of the cloth diapers it still doesnt add up to what a family is going to spend on diapers in the long run. I have had 4 kids so i know how tight things can be when you need diapers and groceries etc.

If someone left me 500 disposable diapers as a gift I would take them everywhere to try to exchange them. Hopefully I could get store credit and use the extra money I may have to buy a few cloth diapers and give to lower income people at my church. They helped me with my baby girl alot.

Hi,

If I received 500 disposable diapers, I would keep 20 of them for traveling and emergencies, and I would give the other 480 to a local women's shelter.

Thanks for the contest (and for your tweets - I'm Mom_09). I also just subscribed to your feed!

If I were to receive 500 (WOW!) disposable dipes on my doorstep? This is sticky... realistically, we don't want anyone to use 'sposies, right? If there's no way to have them recycled or exchanged for cash to buy cloth diapers then I would take them to a local mother's support center, WIC or women & children's center and donate them.

In all honesty, I'm sure I'd use a good bit of them. I'm only about to start the cloth journey (which winning this would certainly help with--hint hint!). That does seem like a lot, though, so I'd probably donate some to Jessie's Place, a local women & children shelter.

If I found 500 disposable diapers at my doorway, I would bring them to the food pantry so if a family who was stopping in for food also needed diapers, they would have them.

Now if I found 500 cloth diapers, I would make a great stash for my house and my cousins. I would then put the remaining diapers together in sets of 25 or 30. On a bright Saturday morning, I would stand near the farmer's market and give out the sets to parents who might be interested in trying cloth diapers and being green.

I'm with Jenney, they have already been made, so I would give them to the pediatric hospital where I used to work. It is very hard to cloth diaper for these families while spending months living in a hospital setting.

As much as I love cloth diapers and feel they are the best diapering option (even preferable to gDiapers), I support moms and dads who use disposables. I would keep some of the disposables (10? 50?) for road trips and staying with family members who can't facilitate our diaper washing. I would keep several to give as baby shower presents and to my fifty or so baby-toting friends! This would let me pool my moolah to buy cloth diaper gifts for my dear and interested friends!

It is so funny how much 500 diapers sounds like until you sit down and figure out how fast those would go! With my twin boys we would go through anywhere from 16 to 20 per day so that would last us approximately....4 weeks (If we were using sposies full time). I have to say we still use disposables for trips, church etc. Also one of my sons has severe excema and we have to use a prescription medication that cannot be used with cloth....so I would probably keep them.

I would keep a small stash on hand for "just in case"... For instance I'd put some in a tote that I'm starting for evacutation situations, or if I have to strip all of my dipes I'd use sposies while stripping CDs.

The rest I'd give to a pregnant mama that I know who is in need. she's NOT open to CDing, so I've been giving her all the sposie coupons you get mailed to you during pregnancy.
