I love the concept of aplix because it seems like it gives the diaper a better fit and you can get it more secure, its also pretty quick. However the aplix doesnt hold up too well in washing (in my experience) so I usually go with snaps.

ReplyDeleteI like both aplix and snap for different reasons. I love aplix because I can put them on really fast and get a more custom fit.
ReplyDeleteI like snaps because they don't wear out like aplix and stay on more securely.

ReplyDeleteI prefer snaps. The velcro tends to rub on my babies tummy and I don't like how it looks worn over time.

ReplyDeleteI prefer snaps, even though there are some period where the fit is not perfect, the litte one usually outgrows these periods pretty fast, and soon enough, back to nice fit!
ReplyDeleteI prefer snaps. Aplix gets too linty and the ends of my tabs always curl up.

ReplyDeleteI like snaps. I've only been CDing for a month and I'm already having aplix issues. The laundry tabs on my Softbums and BG OG just don't stick.

ReplyDeleteI would like velcro closures because I have never tried them. Fun, so glad you guys do FF!
ReplyDeletesanps for sure! they last WAY longer, I've had way to many issues with the other. :)
ReplyDeleteI would choose snaps because they stay shut better and the aplix sometimes rubs against my baby's legs and makes them sore.

ReplyDeleteI definitely prefer snaps. I thought I liked Aplix for a long time until it wouldn't stick anymore!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the snaps because I want to make sure my toddler can NOT take off his diaper :0

ReplyDeleteI love Aplix. You can't beat the fit, but I actually find myself reaching for my snap closure diapers more because I don't want to wear out the velcro!! It's a tough choice! LOL

ReplyDeleteI havent used a snap diaper so I would like to try one out. The aplix seems to grab ahold of everything (both the kind used on gro baby's and the other kind)Also my baby likes to grab ahold of the aplix and tear it open, which has been a fun experience recently. BTW I think your commenting rules are just too complicated. Let everyone get one chance per giveaway.
ReplyDeleteSNAPS! I so heart SNAPS, and here's why. Aplix is delightfully easy, but one night I heard this strange ripping sound, and low and behold what was it? The aplix on my lil' boy's BG undoing itself!
ReplyDeleteThat said, I have to be honest, and the aplix used by the people over at the natural baby company do a lovely job with their aplix, and it is the finest i've come across.
I only use aplix, but I'd love to try the snaps- it seems like they'd last longer and be harder for the baby to undo herself.
ReplyDeleteI really don't have a preference, but I guess snaps so they can't come undone and get stuck to other diapers!

ReplyDeleteI've been converting to snaps recently. I like the fit w/Aplix better, but tired of the curled ends and lint.

ReplyDeleteI have the GroBaby snap and the aplix and like them both for varying reasons--snap means Baby C won't pull it off, aplix means I get a customized, snug fit. Tough choice!

ReplyDeleteI liked the aplix better at first because I could get a more exact fit around my babies tiny newborn legs. Now I like naps better because the aplix tabs started to curl and they poke me at night when I nurse.

ReplyDeleteIm kind of torn on aplix v. snaps. I love the fit of aplix diapers in the waist on my chunky 30 lb.er but he can take them off to easily now that he is 18 months old and figured them out. Our stash is more snaps now that he is older. Would get more aplix for a newborn (if we have anymore.)

ReplyDeleteIt wasn't that long ago that I would have definately been in the aplix camp. Aplix is quick and easy and I think it's also easier on other people take care of my daughter because it more closely resembles what the general public is used to on a diaper.
ReplyDeleteHowever, recently my daughter at 13 months, has begun undoing the aplix. So now, I'll have to change my mind and say "SNAPS"

ReplyDeleteI finding that I definitely prefer snaps. My the velcro on all of my aplix closure diapers are really starting to wear out, so I tend to only buy snap diapers now.
ReplyDeleteSo far I like aplix better because it allows for a more customized fit and is easier for daddy & childcare workers. But I can see snaps lasting longer and being more secure as baby gets older.

ReplyDelete95% of my diapers and covers are aplix, but I would prefer snaps since my 11 month old discovered the cool sound velcro makes when you pull on it.
ReplyDeleteI prefer snaps! They seem to deter the would-be naked baby a little better than aplix ;)

ReplyDeleteHey there,
ReplyDeleteWe're not new to the cloth diapering concept - but lack experience with anything other than basic flatfolds/prefolds, diaper pins and plastic pants. Our "basics" are starting to get worn out and I actually was just doing some online research about what else is "out there" when I stumbled on this sight.
To get to the heart of your question: From the reviews I've read so far (mostly from other site's reviews), I'm thinking I would prefer the snap option. What I've read from many is that the aplix does not wear in the wash as well - and endurance is a key factor I'm considering as I hope to make purchases that will last for multiple children. So...for now, I'm preferring snaps.
Thanks!
We have a mixture of both snaps and Aplix in our collection. I don't know that I have a favorite. Snaps are good for not scratching up tender belly skin, but are harder to close on a wiggly tot. Aplix is lickety-split and the diaper is on, but there can be that scratch factor. :)

ReplyDeleteI am not familiar with the term (Aplix) I am going to guess that it is the same as velcro. I do however prefer snaps. I do mostly have velcro, but that is because I use the Gro-baby system which I love very much and they consist of velcro. I have been slowly increasing my stash of fuzzi-bunz so we will see where I end up.

ReplyDeleteVelcro vs. snaps. Good question. I'm still undecided. I much prefer the fit of velcro (aplix) because I get a good snug fit every time, but I'm worried that it won't last as long as I would like.

ReplyDeleteI like aplix because it is easier to get a good fit and is quick on a squirmmy baby. I do like that snaps don't stick to each other in the wash but I just can't seem to get the right fit with snaps.
ReplyDeleteI like the velcro/applix better because it's quicker to get on my little squirmy worm than the snaps are. He doesn't stay still long enough for me to get my fingers around them.

ReplyDeleteI like both, but most of my diapers are snaps because I've heard from lots of CD'ing moms that they hold up better long term. I have one with aplix though and love it for a more accurate fit and ease of putting on her, especially when she's wiggly at 5 am because she wants to eat :).
ReplyDeleteI think I'd like aplix because it would be easier to fasten at night. Although I've heard some stuff about it wearing out and snagging other things.
