  1. I like aplix closures in general, because they're quick and easy and allow for infinite size variations. I used to hate snaps, but now that I'm getting used to them, I see their positives. My daughter is learning to undo the aplix closures, and though she's not bad about it yet, I can see the day coming when it'll be snaps only for us.

  4. I prefer snap closures because they seem more durable and likely to last for use on more than one child. The aplix I do have is looking very worn after only 3 months of use.

  10. I didn't realize I loved snaps until I got the new Flip diapers--much better than snaggly velcro.

  11. I like the snap closures because my baby can't take off his diaper. I think it will be harder to use the snaps as he gets older and wiggles more when I change him, but he will also be more likely to take his diapers off then. The applix show wear sooner and don't seem to lay quite as flat. I have both and like both though. I have many more applix in my stash than snaps.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I prefer the snap closures, because they seem to hold up longer & don't snag the other diapers. No matter how careful I am with the aplix, after 2 years of use they work themselves open in the washer.

  16. I prefer aplix closures for their ease of use. I don't hate snaps, but I find myself saving them for the end of the pile :-) Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I used to prefer aplix closure because they are quick but now mr. baby has figured them out so I'm going to say snap.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I like Snap closures because when they are younger and always have their legs up by their chest it tents to scratch them, and when they are older it is easier to rip them off.

  19. I prefer aplix. Easier for me and hubby. I have both and use both.

  22. I know it's kind of a cop out but I don't really have a preference. I like snaps and velcro for different reasons. I like velcro for it's ease of use. When I was new to cloth diapering it made things much less intimidating and my velcro diapers are always the ones left out for sitters/daddy/grandparents/aunts/uncles. Snaps, well my stash is now mainly snap diapers. I like snaps, a huge reason for that is that my snap diapers don't tend to look so worn as quickly as my velcro ones, they stay in better shape and plus it's great not having to worry about laundry tabs or diapers sticking to each other in the wash. I'm sure they will especially be a favorite when I have a babe that can undo velcro ;)

    ReplyDelete
  23. I haven't tried snaps yet, but I'm hoping to soon. I like the velcro because I can get a tight fit on my son.

  29. I VERY much prefer snaps because they last way longer than aplix. Also, I don't have to worry about the laundry tabs coming undone and snagging other diapers or covers in the wash.

    ReplyDelete
  30. So far I've only used aplix closures (BG one-size and Thirsties Duo). I'm waiting for my girl to fit into her FuzziBunz so I can try out the snaps!

  34. I suspect I will enjoy velrco more. But I have both to try and see. Seems to have more adjustments and easy fastening.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I like snap closures because they seem more durable & able to withstand multiple washings. Aplix fits better but begins to look ratty & makes diaper chains in the washer.

  41. I am a very new cd'er. I have bought used both snaps and velcro. I am still not sure which I like best. With the velcro I can see it wearing out faster and sometimes I get confused when there is a million snaps. I am still trying out different diapers so maybe we will find a happy medium soon.

  45. I definitely like snaps better. Maybe not so much for the fit but they last way longer. All the diapers I've ever had that were aplix/velcro have ruined but either curling up, falling off or just not staying down!!

  54. snaps all the way, my son is able to de-diaper himself rather quickly in the aplix, even as I am trying to diaper him! And as much as I love his cute little bum, I'd rather not clean the carpets.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I like having a variety, actually. Aplix is good sometimes, and snaps are good for diaper time when our baby can't take his diaper off! :o)

    ReplyDelete
  56. snaps! the aplix/velcro doesn't survive long in my house - we have nine cats and a dog so there's hair everywhere. and the tabs always seem to curls up at the ends, making it way too easy for my little one to take his diaper off!

    eidolons AT gmail DOT com

    ReplyDelete
  57. I used to prefer Aplix, but I've had too many diapers with worn out Aplix that I've now replaced with snaps. Now it is snaps all the way for us!

    ReplyDelete
  58. I like aplix, just I supposed I'm biased since I've never used a diaper with snaps.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I prefer aplix for the fit of a diaper, I only have a couple snaps and don't prefer their fit over my others. For washing, I wish I had all snaps. I also don't like the way aplix wears out quicker than snaps. That being said, I guess I like both for different reasons.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I like that the snaps seem to last longer and look better over time, but I like how it's so much easier and faster to put on an aplix diaper. I want to love snaps, but now I am an aplix user.

  70. I prefer velcro (aplix) - much easier to use on a wiggly baby, and it allows for size variation, unlike snaps.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I prefer velcro to get a better fit but think as he gets older I'll probably want more snaps diapers.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Snaps! They have outlasted the velcro, and my toddlers haven't been able to get them off! Velcro is just too fun and simple for little fingers!

    ReplyDelete
  73. I prefer snaps -- they stay looking nice longer, don't scratch tummies and don't snag on clothes.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I like the aplix closures, because they are easier...however I have a feeling I'll like snaps when my son gets older.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I thought I would prefer aplix, but after getting a smartipants withh snaps, I *love* snaps. I just feel like they stay in place so much better, and the aplix gets so yucky after awhile.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I prefer snaps by FAR! And my 2 rumparooz with snap are by far my favorite diaper in my stash!

    es1237 at gmail dot com

    ReplyDelete
  77. When we first started cloth diapering I loved our aplix covers. Now that I have a few snap closure diapers, I think I prefer snaps. With snaps I never have to worry about the diaper catching on my daughter's clothes.

  78. I have only used snap closures, but I think I would prefer velcro closures because they generally give a better fit.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I like snaps because they seem to hold up better, though I'm finding I like aplix more recently.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Right now we only have snap closure diapers. I like how durable they are. In the future, I'd like to try some aplix, just for the convenience factor.

  87. Snaps for sure for us! I'm very particular on how my diapers look and take great care of them, I find aplix shows wear no matter how high quality it is. I have had snap diapers for 2 years that are still in fantastic shape and you would not be able to tell they are that old.

    Mayghan

    ReplyDelete
  88. I prefer the fit you get with velcro. BUT I prefer to use snap diapers as those are harder for my baby to remove himself.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I like the aplix for convenience sake, but there is something very secure about the snap closures. I go to different ones more in different stages of infancy. For the newborn?? Definitely the aplix. I couldn't get the perfect fit with the snaps.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I'm not sure, since we haven't started cloth diapering yet. But I would think I'd prefer the snaps, since they're harder to get off!

  101. i've only used velcro so that's my favorite, but would love to try out some snaps!

    ReplyDelete
  102. I prefer aplix generally. It allows for a bit more variations in size. All of my ECOBABY fitteds are snaps though and I have gotten used to them. So I guess I'd say aplix covers, snap diapers. (I still love my trusty old prefolds and pins though!)

    ReplyDelete
  103. I prefer snaps- they almost never go bad!

    ReplyDelete
  104. I'm torn. I LOVE aplix because of the ease. But ever since my little man figured out how easy aplix closures open, and takes them off, I've come to have a new appreciation of snaps! Plus, I like snaps because they don't peel or get things stuck in them.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Most of my diaper stash has snap closures, and I preferred those diapers, but as my baby is growing into a toddler and has his own agenda, aplix is much faster and easier when changing a baby on the crawl!

    ReplyDelete
  106. I like snaps because aplix always gets caught on each other in the wash. I don't always remember to close the laundry tabs...But with snaps, you don't have to deal with that!

    ReplyDelete
  107. I love aplix until the age of...about 18 months. Then I have to have snaps or the diaper mysteriously gets lost around the house. lol.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I like snaps because they are harder for my daughter to get off! Also, I don't have to worry about it rolling and then sticking to fleece jammies!

    ReplyDelete
  109. I like aplix closures because they are easy, we don't have any snaps. The diapers we do have, have taken a lot of beating, however the customer service has been great and any aplix problems have been resolved, but that won't last through a second baby and I'd like to test the snaps!

    ReplyDelete
  110. I like aplix for night so that I can get the best fit, and snaps for day so that they last longer and I don't have to deal with snags on everything!

    ReplyDelete
  111. I am on the fence between snap and velcro closures. I guess I prefer the velcro but it seems like it won't last as long. I think I get a better fit with velcro.

  116. I like snap closures the best because I feel like they are more durable and will last longer. I also like them because you do not have to remember to fold over laundry tabs or worry about them opening in the wash.

    ReplyDelete
  117. I like aplix b/c it's easy, but I like snaps too b/c they are more durable and harder for babes to undo!

    ReplyDelete
  118. I would much rather use a snap diaper. I find that its not as easy for the babe to pull off as an aplix closure.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Snaps! I wish I had more snap diapers. The aplix is mostly wearing out quickly.
