I use Seventh Gen free and clear. For the most part I'm happy with the results, but my diapers, especially the liners seem to be wearing more than they should.

I make my own. It works great - no more stripping diapers. Ever. Aside from actually having to make it (I'm almost 38 weeks pregnant and everything is a chore these days), I'm quite happy with it.

ReplyDeletei currently use Allens natural soap, simply bc they wer eout of wonder wash at my local CD shoppe, and Allens works out to be very cheap per load. i measure it out each load, and so far used it just to prep all my CDs. im looking to try other brands too and heard great things about this!

ReplyDeleteI'm currently using Purex free and clear and so far have not had any issues but I have only been CD for 3 weeks.

ReplyDeleteI use Charlie's and am pretty happy with the results. Occasionally our inserts start to get stinky since Charlie's doesn't disinfect, so I have to bleach or sun them. Otherwise it works great and our diapers smell so fresh and clean!

ReplyDeleteI use a combination of Charlie's Soap and Rockin' Green. The Charlie's Soap gets the stains out like nothing else, but doesn't have any fragrance. Rockin' Green doesn't get the stains out as well, but it smells great and rinses really clean.

ReplyDeleteWhat detergent do you currently use to wash your diapers and are you happy with the results?
ReplyDeleteI currently use Lil' Outlaws detergent to wash my cloth diapers. I am VERY pleased with the results and will continue to use it. I had used Purex Free and Clear but it created too much build up and gave my baby girl rashes.
Last baby I used Method free & clear, but I had to strip them more often that I would have wanted to... I used very little soap and put baking soda in the wash.
ReplyDeleteThis baby is due next week and I bought a jug of of Charlie's Soap - and washed my old stash and a few new ones in it - Seems fine. though the true test isn't here yet.
I'm also a facebook fan!
ReplyDeleteI currently use charlie's soap. I do like it very much but I have been wanting to try Rock N Green b/c I love the sound of the scents!
ReplyDeleteI use a brand called Xtra. Not great for synthetics, OK on prefolds.

ReplyDeleteMy baby isn't quite here yet, so I can only say what we're planning to use right now. I've heard so many good things about Rocking Green (online and IRL) that it's the only detergent I've seriously considered using. That many people can't be wrong!

ReplyDeleteOkay I have been using planet liquid for a long time, but even after an extra large double rinse, there's still soap on the inside of my pul on my pockets. I have gotten a couple of sample bags of RnG and there is little, if any, soap left and the clean seems to be good as well.

ReplyDeleteI use Planet powder on my Happy Heiny's, which are all we using anymore as we're almost done with diapers for a little while. Our next baby is due this fall. Planet has worked well on my fleece and even my hemp inserts. However, it didn't always do the job when I was still using my cotton prefolds. I would add baking soda to soften our hard water and it would help a little. I still had to strip the diapers fairly often. I've been wanting to try Rockin Green ever since I heard of it on the blog last week.
ReplyDeleteI use Charlie's for diaps and regular laundry. Overall, I'm happy w/ it but I still stuggle with getting the "stink" out of the diaps.

ReplyDeleteI currently use Tide Original because it was very accessible when I first started cloth diapering. Recently, I have been having stink issues and have been looking into other detergents. Rockin Green seems to be an excellent option and one I am going to try in the future.
ReplyDeleteI use All Free and Clear because of DS #1s sensitive skin. I think it's hard on my dipes though, so I just ordered some unscented RnG.

ReplyDeleteI'm currently using Rockin' Green's Soft Rock. I'm pretty happy with the results. I think my complaints have more to do with the machine and less to do with the detergent.

ReplyDeleteI use Crunchy Clean, and just switched to their hard water type, lavendar vanilla scent. I was having a bit of trouble when I wasnt using the hard water specific soap, but so far I am happy with the switch.
ReplyDeleteI'm using Rockin Green and LOVE it! I've tried at least a half-dozen detergents over the past 2 years and RnG is the only one that works with our water and washer to leave our diapers fluffy and white!

ReplyDeleteI have used All Free and Clear and Tide Original, but I don't know if I am happy with either. I don't think my diapers stink yet, but they do seem to have an unique odor. I have been considering getting a more cloth diaper friendly detergent to see if it solves the smell.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first started cd'ing I used Arm & Hammer, but now I use Crunchy Clean. Love it!

sometimes we use tide and sometimes we use rockin green. tide worked well for a long time, but the diapers started to get stinky, so we switched to rockin green. now we use both - rockin green when the diapers get stinky and tide the rest of the time.

I like it so much I started using it for most of my laundry (I am working towards using it on all of my laundry. I need to use up the other detergent I have before I go all Rockin' Green for all our laundry needs. Oh why did I have to stock up on that other detergent b4 I tried Rockin' Green !).

ReplyDeleteI use Charlie's Soap. The results are "so-so." The soap seemed to work fine at first, but now my daughter has a diaper rash that we can't seem to get on top of. We've been having problems since moving to a new house, so I'm thinking that I need something that works better in hard water.
