When I run out of diapers before a washing, I usually end up laying a folded prefold in a Flip cover, but I hate loosing the stay-dry benefit of the regular flip inserts. It sounds like this way I could use prefolds and still my dd's bum dry!Crystalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14242314545479267656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6372695054968205332.post-68032601869256613562010-04-28T08:23:01.270-04:002010-04-28T08:23:01.270-04:00Wondering... do you have to remove insert from soc...Wondering... do you have to remove insert from sock before washing??Wade&Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09693094895630577571noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6372695054968205332.post-84107784832833908782010-04-28T00:04:46.774-04:002010-04-28T00:04:46.774-04:00I had not heard of these... thanks for sharing.. I'm new to cloth diapering (and to mothering) so I don't know why this is important. Does anyone know why? Even though this solution is less expensive than pocket diapers, it would work out to basically the same price as buying the bumGenius Stay Dry Inserts for their Flip system (and function the same). You can usually get liners for $1/each retail, or buy fleece and cut it yourself for a fraction of the cost.

Don't get me wrong - I love the bumGenius Stay Dry for Flip, and I think their insert socks would be a great idea, but if your goal is to cloth diaper as *cheaply* as possible, these really don't seem to fit the bill. I guess I would consider them to be a low-moderate cloth diapering budget?Brassyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04169834233733161103noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6372695054968205332.post-58533357318244044222010-04-27T07:35:08.821-04:002010-04-27T07:35:08.821-04:00It's so funny you blogged about this, bcz I ju...It's so funny you blogged about this, bcz I just purchased my first BG sock last week to try out, and I LOVE it with my prefolds!!. I am surprided no one really raves about them. I stumbled on them looking for insert alternatives that were not too expensive. It really gives baby that dry feeling w/no leaks.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06284657508672795003noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6372695054968205332.post-74383822394229972482010-04-27T01:51:22.810-04:002010-04-27T01:51:22.810-04:00I totally agree! I am shying away form pocket diapers because I worry about the price (you know, aren't 6 pocket diapers more expensive than 2 cover diapers with 3 inserts each?). How do you feel about that expense? Does this method make it worth it? Is it bulky?

Thank you for any help you can provide.
