While I don't have a baby who has been a preemie or fought a medical battle, I do have two little boys who have a daddy who has to deploy constantly. Their resilience and bravery inspires me daily!

I am grateful to say that my Little Warrior, Rowan, hasn't faced much in his life, but he has fought through hearing loss due to chronic infections and after having tubes inserted the only fighting he does is with his brother. ;)

While I haven't had a literal Little Warrior (premie), my little man has been quite the climber and has gotten many bumps and bruises. Slips and falls, he's only three and had three sets of stitches, a broken wrist and many other small ailments that have sent him to the pediatrician's office. The doctor has always told me not to dampen his spirits and to let him be! We'll see how he grows! ;)

My lil man is the light of my life and inspires me to do better every day <3

My baby girl was not a preemie, although she was two weeks early. My sister (a midwife) tells me that premature deliveries are happening more and more often and they don't quite know why.

My little guy was supposed to be born with a host of problems but he's all.healthy!!

Unknown said...

Awesome prize pack!!! Love the charity!

My little warrior was born at 37 weeks because I have type 1 diabetes and suffered from diabetic keto-acidosis with blood glucose in the target range. She is amazing and growing like a little weed. This is my 3rd little warrior princess and I am still amazed how much love a heart can hold.

Jess said...

My daughter is a little warrior, all right. My water broke at 23 weeks and I have been on hospital bedrest since then. I'm 33 weeks, 4 days today. C-section scheduled for next week. What a fighter! We've been so lucky to come this far, I hope she does well in the NICU. <3

Unknown said...

I have two little warriors. They aren't the typical warriors. But they sure are my pride and joy

I have a very strong, determined and lovable little warrior whom I love with all my heart :)

My youngest baby was born with a cataract in One of her eyes. She had to go to many different doctors and be poked nd prodded. She luckily didn't have anything wrong beyond the cataract but she was so strong throughout the entire testing process. She is still such a strong little girl with such a big attitude and great personality.

My Little Warrior is 16 months old, and despite a few minor conditions, he is a healthy and happy little guy. :)

My little warrior is headstrong and adorable

Unknown said...

Well I've been lucky not to have to go through such scary situations. But I send all my love to all the moms that have. Having a premie is no easy task. They're all warriors in my eyes!

I have 3 Little Warriors. 1 was in the NICU for 4 days, 1 had to deal with mommy having a surgery while still in the womb, and 1 has all sorts of diagnosis that he'll battle for the rest of his life.

My little warrior can be a handful at times, but she is awesome to have in my life.

My little warrior is fast asleep!

supermadchen said...

My first was in a big hurry to be born - fought his way out in about 6 hours and once he was born we saw why: he'd somehow tied a knot in his umbilical cord and it was no longer providing adequate blood flow.

Unknown said...

My little guy was born a week late but the size of a preemie (5 lbs) and was born not breathing. My little warrior pulled through

Neither of my girls were born early, but my second had a rough go in the beginning. We went through three months of her having difficulty eating, being gassy and fussy before we correctly diagnosed lip and tongue ties. We weren't aware of how little she had actually been getting to eat until she gained so much in the week after getting the ties corrected that she went up a size in clothes! Unfortunately, our nursing journey ended too soon because of how severe the ties were, but after a few months of Occupational Therapy, she was correctly using her tongue, so we no longer had to worry about her eating solids incorrectly when the time came! Babies are so resilient :)

Mary Schuh said...

I have a boy and a girl; they're both very strong willed and are very outspoken. ;-)

Susan A said...

My little warrior and I really struggled with breastfeeding at first, and he lost about a pound and a half in one week. I felt guilty thinking it was somehow my fault, so I researched and discovered he had a severe tongue tie. We got it cut and my little warrior is now thriving!

Unknown said...

Can't wait to start CDing our little warrior due in August. He is a our little ninja kicking me all the time and making the dogs yelp when he gets them in the throat if they have their head draped over my belly.

Kelly said...

I'd love to try Grovia!

Marlete Ledford said...

My little warrior came 3 weeks early with an emergency c-section. We almost lost him but he's a little fighter and now is a happy, chunky 5 month old :)

Barb Borntreger said...

I have 3 wonderful children! 2 boys and a baby girl.

Unknown said...

My babies weren't crazy early, but they came home healthily even though they were born at 36 weeks. :)

Unknown said...

I'm very thankful to have delivered full term, so I don't consider myself to have a "little warrior" in that sense. My daughter did get to spend a few days in the NICU for a relatively minor complication and observation and we got to see and speak to some of the parents that had preemies that really were fighting for their chance at life. I can barely imagine what it must be like to wonder not just 'when' but 'if' you'll get to take your little warrior home.

Unknown said...

It's a little hard to put everything in one little blog post comment. But my little warrior was born at 39 weeks and 4 days at home as planned. Our midwife noticed something concerning and transferred us to the local hospital. We ended up flying her 3 hours away to a NICU. She met with a neurosurgeon the next day and had an MRI the following day. She had back surgery at 4 days old. And she was home at 8 days old. So proud of her and amazed at her ability to heal!

my littles were full term and healthy but they are strong and vibrant and full of life!

Our little guy has us worried with ultra sounds bi weekly, but in the end he was born just a week early and healthy. Fully support the cause behind this color from GroVia!(Amanda D)

My little warrior just can't seem to gain weight. She keeps slipping down the growth scale. But that doesn't stop her from being happy and eager to smile at everyone.

Both of my kids were born on time, but I do have a nephew who was born prematurely and is doing well.

My son wasn't a preemie, but he was in the NICU for 9 days. He had a brain injury during his birth. He had a procedure to cool his body temperature down to allow more blood flow to his brain to eliminate brain damage and swelling. He's 5 now and has a bad speech delay but other than that, hes been doing well.

Unknown said...

My youngest daughter's heartbeat went way down right before I began pushing. Her cord was wrapped around her neck twice. Thankfully, she's perfectly healthy!

Unknown said...

My son has had asthma/allergies for the past 8 months. We have been trying to teach him (a 2 year old) about the outdoor triggers. I know that as he gets older, he will understand more. I am constantly surprised at how quickly he bounced back from an allergy attack or coughing spell.

My own little warrior is my oldest daughter. She was born 5 weeks prematurely and was very sick when she was born. Her NICU stay was one of the hardest times of my life. But, she's a fighter (to this day!) and I'm so grateful for her and everyone who helped her. There are millions of little warriors and we should cherish every one!

So, my little warrior defeats all foes with her adorable smile and beautiful eyes. All are powerless in the face of her cuteness!

My little one is a warrior indeed. She is stubborn as can be and does a great job of standing up for herself. Of course, she's the youngest of four so she has to make sure she has her place and stands out.

I have been blessed and fortunate to have two healthy kids so far, and pregnant with my third. I can't imagine seeing any of them sick and truly feel for the moms and dads who have to see their kids face hardships like that.

I would say my little guys are warriors in the sense that, when learning something new, they try and try until they finally get it! Love seeing the look of accomplishment and pride on their faces :)

My "little warrior" is certainly making a big fuss about her currently cramped living quarters! She is about 3 weeks from being due to arrive, and still kicking and squirming quite a bit. Though, at most recent check, she is "in position" with her head down and ready to go. Which means lots more jabs to the ribs lol. Oh well, I love it!!!!
