... and then there was SAND and SUN!

When Kelly sent me the photos for her "Then there was snow" post, I couldnt help but to remember ONE-MORE-TIME, that I dont miss the snow. I do wish my girls could play from time to time on the snow, and then to have the snow melted after playtime (Yeah, right).

Last Saturday, with a temperature of 87 F, I went to the beach with my family. Yes, the beach. One of the perks of living in the Caribbean is that you get to be able to go to the beach all year long. Off to the beach we went, and my girls got to play with SAND instead of SNOW. We are still in Winter, but the Caribbean winter is certainly very different to the winter at Kelly's town.

Here are some of the photos, and I honestly hope you get some WARM vibes your way at the second you look at these photos... Here is my oldest daughter:

My two youngest:

Here is hubby and me after the beach.. You can see how red our faces are:

Jess: Thanks for the compliments... I will tell my hubby that you said that.. LOL

Upstatemomof3: Isnt it?? I love it too!!!

TheOGMamaBear: OMG!!!!!!! Even though I know it will be cute for my girls to play in the snow (the two youngest havent even seen snow), it really drives me crazy all the layers and heavy clothing...

What a fun family day! All your pictures are fantastic! I would love to live close to the beach. Thanks for helping me feel just a little bit warmer!

What fun pictures! Even though I hate the snow at times, I think I would miss experiencing all 4 seasons during the year. I am ready for spring now though!!

I am SO JEALOUS! We took a vacation in February hoping for California sun, and all we got was 40 degree weather and rain! Yuck! What a gorgeous place you live in, you lucky girl!

I get the warm, for the most part, winter here in Texas. No beaches and no snow. Winter is pretty boring here!

LOVE the post! Your girls are all so adorable and you and your hubby look soooooo happy!

We've had incredibly warm weather here in San Diego, just haven't been able to take advantage of the beach!

Kelly said...

Nice, really nice! I am sitting here in Chicago wondering if we will ever see spring and you go and do this. LOL! It looks beautiful and I would love to be sitting on the beach right now. But since I really love the beach, it is probably best I don't live by it because I would never get anything done. I can't wait to take my daughter to the beach one day.

Oh man, that looks wonderful! I'm so jealous! I hate the snow here in Michigan. Honestly though, my favorite place to live would be somewhere relatively warm where snowy mountains are only a couple of hours away in the winter. For sledding. Most of the West Coast here qualifies. You have cute kids by the way.

Wonderful pictures! Looks like a great day!

I'm jealous too! It gets hot here, but our lakes (never as good as the ocean) seem to have been infested with some sort of terrible algae for the last few years, so there's been no swimming except in pools. Lucky you!

these are gorgeous, thanks for posting. is this jamaica/ we love the caribbean.

Cute photos - now if I can just use them to convince my husband that living in Minnesota for the rest of our lives in NOT a good idea (that there are places that don't get down to 20 below zero in the winter)...

So tired of the cold and snow here...blah...at least it's started melting this week...

Yay for the beach! We just got back from Florida--check out my blog about it:

Whoops - totally posted a comment to the wrong thread the first time (I went to post this as a comment to this one but scrolled down too far)! Anyway, my question is this: Does anyone have any experience with cloth swim diapers? I've been bringing my kids to swim lessons at an indoor pool nearby and we've been using the disposable swim diapers. I am new to cloth diapering in general and wondered if anyone had any ideas/input on cloth SWIM diapers. Maybe this could be a topic for a blog entry if it hasn't been covered already? Just curious! Thanks! :)

Oh why, oh why did I move from so. CA to Utah?!? I miss the warm winters so much! The sand there looks like so much fun!

Katrina said...

Can you send some of that warm weather up here to WI? Growing up in FL, I remember going to the beach year round too...although I must say, playing in fresh fallen snow still brings me joy - I don't have to shovel it!

I love the picture of your two youngest! And I'm very jealous of your sunny weather. We tried to get to the sun during the February break here, but it rained during the California trip :(

MuchAfraid said...

Ok, I relate to this one better! I live in CA, it's a little chillier than that, but we enjoyed a good day at the beach too! The snow is kinda confusing... I can't even fathom living in it.

You look like you have a wonderful family and happy life!!! :) That's so awesome!

As for the beaches, I'm incredibly jealous! :)

Your photos instantly relaxed me! I cannot wait for summer! Are you taunting us ;)

Anelys, you are telling me! It takes me what feels like hours some days just to leave the house with all the d*mn clothes!

Hi Anelys,
Love your post and the picture of your girls are so cute. The pic of you and your hubby is wonderful. You look great together!
I am SERIOUSLY considering moving right about now. I am having a hard time with the 13 below zero temperatures!
Thanks for sharing.

That does look so nice. The beach is my favorite place to go.

Great! Now that you've got us all dreaming of the beach, you can do a post on cloth swim diapers! :)

Thank you all for the comments and for all the compliments on my family! =) I also think my girls are very cute!
Carol: We do get the 4 seasons; it is just that with a different style…
Angelina: We live in Santo Domingo

a.l.s: The photos from your blog are very cute!! She is a cutie!!

Kelly and Birrd: We have a “cloth swimming diapers” week VERY soon!!! Stay tune!!! We are now stocking new swimming diapers and I will try them as soon as I get them… I promise my feedback. You can take a look at the Imse Vimse that we have in stock now: http://www.kellyscloset.com/Imse-Vimse-Bumpy-Swim-Diapers_p_3227.html … Cant give you my feedback on those as I haven’t tried them, but there are a few reviews there.

TheOGMamaGirl: The last winter while we were living in New Jersey, we only had one daughter, and I remember how hard it was just to go around the corner… I cant imagine now with 3 girls!!!!

Kelly W: As I mentioned before: Mi casa es tu casa.

So jealous. I am very tired of this winter, but I have to say I would miss the fall with the leaves changing. Fall is my favorite season with young children-warm enough to go outside everyday, yet not miserably hot, less exposed skin to have to sunblock, and those wonderful leaves to play in:)

This post really makes me look forward to this weekend. LOL Our temps will finally be going up for a few days to the low 80's. I can't wait to take Mikaela to the beach again now that she is older....it will be SOOOOO much fun!

I love the pic of the sister kissys...too adorable.

J-E-A-L-O-U-S!!!! But your girls are gorgeous so I guess that makes up for it a little!

Kelly said...

Anelys, I will have to say that I am just a little jealous. But then I really do enjoy the change of the seasons, not that we get a lot of it in the South (of US). And I agree with the little bit of snow. I love that my parents still live up North and every other year we go up for Christmas and I love to watch my kids play in the snow while we are there. Then we get to come back South and escape the real cold :)

Liz said...

I totally agree with you! We moved from RI to GA last year and are enjoying our first winter with no snow! Although it has been "cold" here the last few days...we went to the beach this week too but with coats on!

Sara said...

looks like fun. I do love the snow though. We are a skiing, ice hockey family all of the way. (Though we LOVE trips to the beach!)

Liz said...

oooh, I cant wait for a swim diaper week/info/product focus post! What would be recommended for an infant, like six months for the beach? She probably wont be in the water so should I just use a regular CD? Hmmm...

i love living in cali :) we have had some nice winter sunny days :0) thanks for sharing your awesome pics !!!

And thanks for sharing the WARM photos... the snow for sure can go away here now!!!!

Girls: Im sure you all will love the cloth diaper swimming week… :)

Erika: I love Fall too, but my favorite season is Spring… In this country is like 12 months of a New York Spring…. I LOVE IT.

Amanda: Looking forward to see photos on your blog!

Kelly: That is exactly what I love… Right now, if we want to, we can go to my in-laws in New Jersey and let the kids play in there, BUT we can go back to our home in this country to be warm again! We will be moving back to NJ at some point, but we are happily living here for at least 3 more years.

Organized: Awwww… Thanks… I do love that photo too… I think it is the cutest photo of us from the latest years when I got overweight.
