I don't think I could live without my cloth wipes now that I have made the switch. I love the fact that everything, diaper, insert, wipe can all go into the wet bag to be washed. I don't have to have a separate little trash can just to throw away a sposie wipe (that's what I did with #1) because that little trash can is something little hands like to get into and we don't want that :)

I do love the Northern Essence Wipes Solution... it's great for freshening my 2 daughters' bums in the morning. Pretty soon we'll find out how it works on newborn messes... then I think our new fave accessory will also be our cloth wipes! (Since our 2 older children are daytime potty trained, we haven't REALLY used the cloth wipes for extensive cleaning... esp. breastfed newborn messes!)

Madeline said...

Cloth wipes and wet bags for sure. You can't seem to have enough of either one, and they make cloth diapering so much easier!

The Hemp Babies Bigger Weeds and SuperDo inserts are ESSENTIAL for overnight diapering! They keep baby dry and comfy! And I'm always shocked by how much pee those things hold!

Still pregnant with my first (15 weeks and counting down!)-- but the next cloth diapering accessory on my list is flushable liners. Seems convenient, and like it would help DH get more comfortable with diaper changing. Did I mention my DH has NEVER in his life changed a diaper? Yikes!

Thanks again for the chance to win!

Another accessory I couldn't live without is my Ikea changing cover. I find alot of changing pads to be too small, since pee can go anywhere and usually not on the narrow pad underneath. I like to change my baby in the car, so pee can usually roll of a pad and onto the seat! The Ikea cover is like a small blanket that is waterproof underneath. It covers alot more area than a little pad and is comfy!

I also think the diaper sprayer is essential for cloth diapering. I feel that spraying the poopy diapers prevents me from needing to do two washes. I just spray them before throwing them in my bucket and then wash them on warm or hot. I have to pay to do my laundry, so this saves me quite a bit of money. Plus, I rarely have stains with this method.

I think one thing I also cannot live without is my wetbag. Its essential now that I'm mainly using prefolds. Before, I could just wrap my pockets up and carry them around. Now I NEED a wetbag!

K said...

I couldn't live without my diaper pail deodorizer disks! It makes the seconds where I have to open the pail to put dirty diapers in there less yucky and it really seems to help keep the stinky down in between loads of laundry.

A plain squirt bottle is another of my diapering essentials. I don't like to wet wipes ahead of time since I don't want them getting moldy, and so I use a squirt bottle to soak them right before I use them on my daughter. Every once in awhile she gets just a bit on her and she blinks her eyes and looks quite offended!

I really cannot live without my prefolds that I use for changing pads - do those count as accessories? They're great b/c we use them as diapers on laundry days too.

My LO is way too squirmy to change on a table, so we change him on the floor with a premium size prefold underneath. Would love to have one of the new Fuzzi Bunz changing pads though!

I absolutely couldn't live without the newborn insert that comes with the Bum Genius diaper. It's the perfect size every time for that extra absorbency I need, like if my toddler has downed an entire sippy cup of milk right before we get in the car to go out! Even for my newborn, it has helped to contain the liquid poo. I panic when they are all dirty! I also love my Snappi and wouldn't be brave enough to do prefolds without it.

My favorite cloth diapering product that I absolutely cannot live without is Northern Essence Better Butt(er) cream. I use it at every diaper change! It's safe to use on fluffy bums and helps keep the yeasties away (which my poor daughter is prone too). Northern Essence has the best cloth diapering lotions & potions available! I use so many of their things.

Sorry, this turned out to be some kind of shameless plug. I didn't mean it like that! :)

My final comment for the week: A recap of my "can't live without accessories"

#1 - My diaper sprayer (can't believe I went without it throughout #1's 3 years of CDing)
#2 - Snappis for prefolds & covers. If you are going to use prefolds, you must have Snappis on hand!
#3 - Cloth wipes - Once again didn't use them with #1 and don't know why now that I do, it is so much simplier.
#4 -Wet bags. A must have at the house and on the go.

Thanks for a terrific giveaway this week. Every week I am amazed at what is given away. Thanks for the terrific blog and topics too!
