I used mostly prefolds with my son and really like the simplicity of them and the ease of care. I tried a hybrid diaper at the end of his diapering career and loved it and will be using them for the coming baby.

Since we haven't actually started cloth diapering yet (until our next is born) I have no idea which I like best. But I'm going to say that I am thinking I'll prefer the AIO or AI2. We'll see though! =)

I really am starting to prefer the pocket diaper for my little girl because she gets a diaper rash so easily when anything wet stays close to her skin for too long. A pocket diaper just whisks that moisture away and I don't have to worry about making sure she is constantly dry!

I like prefolds during the day, especially when we're going to be hanging out at home - they make diaper changes easy, and they're so easy to wash. At night, though, it's pockets all the way, because I can add an extra insert without much bulk and get no leaks.

I totter between prefolds and all-in-ones, but lately I've been loving AIO's more. The simplicity of them allows me to send them to daycare without worrying about whether or not they'll get frustrated (and who would want to frustrate the amazing place who is so graciously cloth diapering for you)!

Four on the Shore said...

I love all types of cloth diapers, but my favorites are pockets!

Jut and Chris said...

My favorites have changed throughout my diapering experience (2+ years). For my solely bf baby, I prefer fitteds. For out and about, I like the ease of pocket diapers. For my pocketbook, prefolds win. So, currently my favorite is fitteds for my 5-week old, but I know that will change as he gets older.

Ok I hope I entering this contest right. I actually have not tried cloth diaperingbut I really want to. I want to try the All in Ones and the the disposable inserts. I am eager to try it but at the time we can not afford to invest in them. My husband flipped when I told him how much they were each. We are on a very strict budget. But hopefully I can win a free one and try it out and eventually get some before my son potty trains. lol.

Stephanie said...

Right now I prefer prefolds and covers because that's what I have the most experience with and have had the most success with. I have a few WAHM one-size pocket diapers that don't seem to work as well or fit as well as my prefolds. I've also sewn a few sham pockets that I love but don't have enough of them to really put them to the test. I love the concept though and would like to try some of these!

Jen D. said...

I like pocket diapers. I have tried AIO's and I just feel like I can get my pocket diapers cleaner in my HE machine. I also like fitted diapers that are made of natural materials. These too seem to come cleaner a little easier than AIO's.

I love prefolds simply because they're inexpensive, easy to wash, and can be folded a bunch of different ways for different needs (they also make great burp- and dustcloths!). Add a cover and you're all set! I like to send pockets to daycare, though, since they work more like a disposable and aren't as intimidating :)
