I haven't had my baby yet, but I don't have any flats to even try. I'm not confident in my folding abilities yet. Maybe after some practice with my prefolds, I'll try out flats.

Em said...

Ooh, I've been hoping to try this exact combo for my first attempts with per folds/flats.

Kate C said...

Yep, tried them. Not what I reach for, but I'm a snap/velcro kind of girl.

Catherine said...

I have not tried flats

^Always Thriving^ said...

I've never used a flat. I'm still not sure what that is compared to a prefold is it the same?

Kristina said...

I've never used flats mainly because I don't have any!

I want to try these!!! This is what I want my stash to be. Just starting to cloth diaper.

ExpectingMommy said...

flats are my favorite!!! so easy to use, wash, and dry. and geffen baby's flat is the most absorbent one because of all the hemp. love love love it!!!

ExpectingMommy said...

Flats are my favorite!!! so easy to use, to wash, and to dry. the most economical too!!!

Ms. Lepore said...

Yup! They are the cheapest!

I haven't been brave enough to try regular flats yet...I've taken flannel doubled about half the size of a receiving blanket and cut them so that they were easy to flod into insert size. They are much more observant than the microfiber and really easy to get clean and fast to stick in the diaper cause they are already preshaped which is my fear of the flats.

Katherine said...

Haven't tried flats. I have mostly AIOs.

I use flats almost exclusively. I like knowing that my diapers are getting clean and that I likely won't ever have to strip :) Plus, I don't own a dryer and I'm not going to use diapers that take FOREVER to line dry. Ain't nobody got time fo dat. I've never tried anything from Geffen, but I'd love to!

I want! I need! stocking up for baby due in 9 weeks.:)

I am just starting to cloth diaper. right now I have a few pocket diapers but I want to try flats because they are cheaper, and I like covers without the inner fleece layer better because you can just wipe them off and re use them instead of throwing the whole thing in the wash right away.

Shayna said...

I haven't tried flats because I don't have the money. The only reason I'm even able to cloth is because a friend surprised me.

Guest said...

I haven't tried them yet. Our first baby is due in November and we are excited to cloth diaper!

Angie Anderson said...

I'm new to the CDing world! So I'm not even sure what "flat" means! lol

Haven't really tried flats for more than burp-cloths, and pre-folding them with emergency-diapering.

Diane c. said...

No, but I would love to! My mother used to hand wash our diapers when we were small!

Unknown said...

I have not been brave enough to try flats. I wouldn't know where to begin. If someone gave me them I'd look it up online and learn.

I recently tried a flat on my little girl when I forgot diapers at home and an awesome friend had one for me to borrow. I was thoroughly impressed

kimmie said...

Yes, I have tried flats and they're okay.

Patti said...

I use cotton flats. They work but not for overnights.

Megan Ramsey said...

I'd be brave enough to try flats if I won them, but I wouldn't risk spending money on them in case I didn't like them

Unknown said...

I have not been brave enough to try flats. One day I went to the store ready to give it a try and all I found were the Gerber ones. Not that I'm against Gerber if it works, but I didn't want to buy them and be disappointed. I figure it was better to start with quality.

LindaHnub said...

I've tried flats and I like doing the pad fold. Sooooo easy!

Danielle said...

I haven't been brave enough to try flats yet. I am intimidated by the folding. I am a recent convert to prefolds and covers though. I just love them and it makes laundry a million times easier. We travel a lot and I am interested in using flats when we travel.

Unknown said...

I haven't been brave enough! They scare me!

Rachel said...

I have tried flats! I did the flats challenge when my now 2-year old was a baby, 2 years ago. But I mostly used flour sack towels.

Elizabeth said...

My first is due soon... but I think I would like to give flats a try!

Luisa B said...

We started out with flats from a diaper cake, still a staple, especially with the wasinachine on the blink!

Unknown said...

Nope- I haven't been brave enough to try any of my cloth diapers yet. But our LO is almost ten pounds, and I figured we'd start then (rumor has it that's when most one-size diapers start fitting well).

Maria Ivey said...

I'm loving Osocozy cotton flats in covers right now.

Sabrina B Radke said...

I haven't tried flats yet, they are the only type of cloth diaper I haven't tried yet. I would love to try them!

Randi S said...

We've not used actual flats, but do use flour sack towels.

Unknown said...

I did the flats challenge two years ago - I love flats!

Ashley-Raye said...

I have used some flats, I've used flour sack towels, birdseye, Ikea burpcloths and receiving blankets. They are my "back up" diapers for if I can't get to diaper laundry or in the event I need to hand wash.

Unknown said...

I LOVE flats. I really like being able to reuse my cover a few times before having to wash it to maintain the longevity of my diapers.

Shannon S. said...

The first time I used cloth diapers on a kid I babysat, I was amazed how easy it was! Definitely looking forward to trying it on my own!

Unknown said...

not flats, i can't fold them right. but prefolds and Flips are quick and easy.

Kelly Levesque said...

I have never tried flats. I usually use prefolds.

Joelle said...

Yes! I was terrified of them at first but once I tried them I was hooked! The short drying time is such a huuuuge benefit!

Danni said...

I haven't tried official flats but my babies have rocked a folded receiving blanket a time or two because I was feeling adventurous!

Fyrebird said...

Oh, yes, I use flats! They make up 99% of my stash. I CD part-time at home, when rashes come up, and when I don't want to run to the store to get more disposables. (Yes, I CD because I'm lazy.) They work great!!

Robin Jones said...

Yes, I actually really like flats! They're so versatile.

Unknown said...

I would love to try Flips.

Unknown said...

Flats are our favorite diapers! Versatility and budget friendly.

J. Olson said...

I have used flats trifolded in a cover or pocket but I would love to use them the "old-fashioned" way with pins or a snappi when my little guy is born. Tired of stuffing pockets I guess!
