Product Focus: Kiwi Pie One Size Fitted Diaper

Sweet Kiwi Pie; Deliciously Soft! There’s a new fitted in town; the Kiwi Pie fitted diaper!

Kiwi Pie diapers and products, such as the Kiwi Peel Wool Covers and WindPro Fleece covers are all handmade right here in the USA by the wonderful folks at The Natural Baby Company.

What makes the Kiwi Pie fitted diaper so special?
Unlike other one size fitted diapers on the market, these are not only cute to look at, but these are so soft, stretchy and really absorbent!

The diapers are made from a smooth texture bamboo fleece with a unique blend of bamboo and Lycra to give the diapers just that little bit of stretch. I have yet to try a fitted diaper that not only fits well but is oh-so-soft inside and out, while looking and feeling comfortable for baby all at the same time!

Each diaper comes with 2 sized lay-in soakers. These soakers can be used individually or snapped together and used in combination for maximum absorbency, without any significant bulk added! The lay-in soakers are great because:

You don’t have to worry about snapping it into place: You can adjust the location of the soaker to fit your little ones needs higher up front for a boy centered/higher up back for a girl

One of the highlights of this diaper which sets it apart from the other one-size fitted diapers is the hidden snaps at the waist! Other well loved one size fitted diapers utilize two rows of exposed snaps along the waist – and all too often these snaps create an unsightly red “snap belt” at the waist. Not a concern with the Kiwi Pie!

Additionally, Kiwi Pie eliminated the need for multiple rows of snaps entirely by utilizing the same quick and easy front snap rise adjustment like some of the beloved one size pocket diapers. Only one row of fully enclosed snaps so your little one’s skin is never in direct contact with a snap… FANTASTIC!

The cute factor: Kiwi Pie utilizes some of the cutest and colorful prints available for both boys and girls! Ooga Booga is our personal favorite – my daughter calls it the “germ” diaper… because the little Ooga Boogas look like the germs from a poster at our doctor’s office!

Lastly, the Kiwi Pie diapers are reasonably priced for the quality and the materials used… so help yourself, and your little one, to a slice of these wonderful Kiwi Pie diapers today!

I purchased my first Kiwi Pie fitted (Dark Ogga Booga) from Kelly's Closet a few weeks ago and LOVE IT!! I can't wait to add more to my stash. I love how soft it is, and it really is amazingly stretchy. Everyone has to own at least one of these fitted diapers. They are awesome!!

Oh man!!!! Now I am so mad that I didn't buy some of these. :( I may have to rectify that at some point.

Thanks for the review! I've looked at the adorable prints on these diapers several times, and now I just might have to try one.

I haven't purchased a fitted just yet. Hate to hide the cute prints under a cover. But with reading the posts here at TCDW I think I want to try at least one.

These are soooo cute! I need to have one! ;)

I haven't tried these yet, but I am definitely going to! We use the "other" fitted diapers you pictures and while I love them we do have an issue with the snaps leaving red marks along my daughter's waist.

I have looked at the Kiwi Pie fitted diapers and really love the designs. I am thinking of trying out some fitted diapers to go with all covers I have since I am moving away from my prefolds with my squimmy little guy. These would be a great start.

I think I would really love these fitteds - and the trim wool cover. Cute model :)

Are covers necessary for fitteds or just depends on how long babes are in them/how heavy of wetters they are?

I really love the ogga booga print!! It is adorable!!! I've been thinking about getting one of these diapers because of the cuteness factor...but I wouldn't want to hide it under a cover. ):

These are my hubby's favorite diaper... I was beginning to wonder if he would *EVER* like one of our cloth diapers... but he came home and found our little man in the Kiwi Pie Fitted diaper and he actually said, for the first time ever, "I like this."

Off I was to see if I could order some more! =)

These would especially wonderful in the upcoming summer months when you can let your little one run around in only a diaper - yes, you'll want to be attentive to when your little one needs a diaper change if you're going coverless - but these are soooo soft and squishy it's really worth it to go coverless!

So I am brand new to cloth diapering. I have 1 bum genius, haha which is not enough to even cloth diaper. I just ordered the "gro baby" on Friday, which I am so excited about. But do these need a cover for them. I can't quite figure it out.

Echoing Katrina - these diapers are fabulous!! I wish my whole stash could be made of these - so so soft and adorably cute.
Wonderful diaper!!

these are absolutely gorgeous. I would love to try one... but who can afford 25 dollars a diaper? I do prefolds for that reason. I guess I will just hope that I win this week!!

I always love reading about the story behind the diaper. It sounds like a great fitted! Currently we only have the MEOS and these seem much cuter!

Sarah: Slow and steady wins the race You may only have one diaper right now but before you know it you will have a nice stash of diapers!

These do require the use of a cover if you have a super heavy wetter or if you plan to use these outside the house... your little one can go coverless with these - but you will want to be diligent in checking on them to make sure they don't get too wet.

However, the beauty of going coverless ensures you're changing your little one frequently just as soon as they are wet, which is ideal.

Now, going coverless is easiest for itty bitty babies who don't squirm too much or babies who are walking... but can be accomplished for those baby in between stages as well (my little guy is a rolly polly on the floor - so I generally try to avoid these for belly time - but they do work well for naps - as he doesn't actually pee during naptime unlike other babies). These will also work well for the hot summer months when baby is usually going "dimando" (commando except with a diaper) LOL

Hope this helps!

Shindylahoe: I know where you're coming from! It wasn't more than a few months ago when I shared your exact same thoughts about some other diapers which are priced even more than these lovely Kiwi Pie Fitteds... I thought, $28 or even $35 a diaper? SERIOUSLY?

So I decided the expensive ones when they either went or sale or I found a gently used one for a great deal... it was then that I realized despite the hefty price tag the diapers were definitely worth it!

First and foremost - the materials used are much more expensive. Hemp and bamboo, even organic cotton costs significantly more than say micro-terry and other synthetic materials.

Also - the diapers are all handmade in the USA! Generally US made products cost more to produce because companies prefer to pay "living wages." It's easy to offer a diaper for $10 and $12 when it's made in factories where people are earning a $1 a day.

And, even at $25 a diaper - it's still a savings over disposables over the course of 2-3 years!

So, once you're able to get past what I like to call diaper sticker shock - then you see many of these higher priced items are worth it.

But I agree, the most economical cloth diapering option will always be prefolds!

hosiewosie: I just answered a similar question... covers are optional - but just be aware these fitteds aren't waterproof - so if you have a SUPER soaker then it's probably best to use them with a cover. However, if you're diligent with your diaper changes then you would potentially go coverless without any problems... I like to lay a fleece blanket on the carpet and let me little one have fun (but I do check him quite often just to be sure because if he's on his belly than the compression can cause a leak onto the carpet.

Do these run small or large? We are having some issues with BG 3.0 running too small for my 4 month old. I want something that will last until he's 2 if possible.

These look so cute and I love hearing how soft they are.

Cute diapers! I think the Peace Garden, Big Butterfly & Spring Daisy are my favorite prints.

I really want to try one of these, but I can't make up my mind what pattern to buy. My current baby is a girl, but I'm trying to stay neutral on one size diapers in case our next baby is a boy.

What a cute little baby in them Kiwi's....

Hmmm, I haven't used fitted since my lil one was 1-2 months old. Back then I used Kissaluvs size 0. But when she grew out of them, the size 1 +cover were really out-of-control bulky on her (and my husband started complaining about the diapering process)...But I'd like to try these ones...probably as a dimando during the weekend days (when I can check her frequently). BTW, I love that word Serena "dimando"; it's now officially pt of my diapering vocab.

I LOVE the last picture! Sure doesn't look like a comfy sleep position!

I am dying to try some fitteds. Maybe Kiwi Pie will be the way to go!
