I would choose all of the cutest nifty nappy fitteds, to go with my wool covers. Then more grovia & lots of inserts, and especially more softbums & inserts.
I would get several each of the GroVia's, Flips, FuzziBunz, bG4.0-some for myself and some to give away to all my preggy friends so they could see how gread cding really is!

Left a review on 8.13.2010 about Flip organic inserts....my fav prefold!
I would love to be able to try lots of different styles, particularly the wool options.
Also, I love love love the Thirsties Duo wraps, but I would like to have some AIO's for traveling.
One problem I have is that my son his HUGE and all his clothes are too tight in the diaper area, and too big everywhere else. Any suggestions for something trimmer underneath jeans, etc? I thought the GroVia might be a good choice.

Amanda Baesler Mitchell Son is 4 months old (born late March) used drier for first few times. Started to line dry when I had a few stubborn stains. I have line-dried for a month straight!!! I toss in the drier for only a few moments to soften them. Ssshhhh HOA doesn't allow clothes lines, so I pop up my drying rack and take down when finished. Not to mention our utility rates are going up in our hometown. :(
Actually, I like variety. My current stash has more than 10 brands. But if I had to pick, a hybrid like Grovia, Wee Huggers or Urban Fluff get the most bang for my buck around here.

If I was given $500 to purchase cloth diapers I would go for the BG 4.0. I currently have 3.0, which I purchased for hubby. He thought prefold was too hard, so I spent a little more $$ on BG 3.0 so he would use cloth. I use Flip prefold & inserts. I must say I tend to feel 'lazy' and use the BG, so I would spend the $$ on BG 4.0. I might even try using cloth wipes. One step at a time...

Did you start out using disposables, hybrids (like G Diapers) or full on cloth diapers?
Amanda Baesler Mitchell We purchased cloth diapers before our first son was born, but planned on using disposables until we had the whole 'we are parents' feeling down pat. We quit using disposables when he was about 3-4 weeks old. At home we use cloth, but church nursery requires disposable, so we have a few on hand. Grandmother uses cloth when babysitting, other babysitters use disposables (he's been with other sitter once). We also have the Flip disposable inserts but have not tried them yet.

I would choose bum genius (haven't tried the 4.0's yet) in all colors and using the aplix!
If i were given $500 to spend on my stash I would buy a little of all the different brands of AIO and some more organic Flips, along with some hemp babies for trips and nighttime doublers!!

I would buy everything from kellys closet (except the prefolds). Of course if you asked me next week how I would spend the $500 I would probably tell you something different! LOL! That was fun!

I'd definitely purchase something for my soon to be baby so she can start cloth in the hospital. We are budgeting out for long term, so we invested our money in OS diapers. Id' love smaller sizes. And different types!

I would purchase a few mama-made wool covers/shorties/longies, or perhaps buy the wool to make some of my own! And some fitteds- not sure what kind but probably a mix of bamboo and hemp. Also some Fuzzi Bunz perfect fit pockets. I'd also like to give GroVia, Rumparooz, Applecheeks, Nickernappis, and a couple of other brands I can't think of at the moment a try.

Hmm, I really like SoftBums, because of the style of one-size fittings. It seems unique, and I always have problems with gaps on the snap-front one-size diapers.

If I had $500 to spend on cloth diapers, I would get a variety of styles... definitely a couple dozen good quality prefolds, a half dozen one-size covers, a few pockets (probably mostly WAHM, but I like Rocky Mountain Diapers), but probably mostly diapers like Flip and GroVia, with shells and inserts.

If I was given $500 to spend only on fluff...I would spend most of it on brightly colored OS pockets, FuzziBunz and BumGenius 4.0s in particular, with a few Happy Heinys cute prints. I'd also get some hemp doublers and try a few other types of diapers just for good measure.

If I had to do it all over again, I would probably get a lot more of the organic bum Genius AIO (elementals), and more sustainable babyish fitteds with wool for nighttime. I would still use my soft bums, but also probably try a few more pocket diapers in my stash like Knickernappies, Rumparooz, or Thirsites. I also really like my one Bum Genius AIo with the hidden pocket to add absorbancy. I would change my Bum Ware AIO's from a Large to a medium ( I sized up and like my medium much better).

Also wanted to add another part to my original answer to the mandatory question: I actually own one Gro Baby and ALL the problems I have with it seems to have been addressed in their new and improved "Gro Via." If they had made those changes when I was trying out diapers, I would have bought a lot more of them. :)

With$500, I would buy a mixture of AIOs and pockets in sized diapers! I love the one-sizes because they can be used longer, but I'd prefer the fit of the sized diapers.
