I just dunk. I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 7 month old (who is eating solids). I bought a diaper sprayer in December b/c my husband hates dunking, but he hasn't hooked it up yet. =)

My son is EBF, but we are planning to get a sprayer for use when he starts solids.

Most of our #2 diapers are easily dumped in the toilet or a little dunking. For the really bad ones, we have a small bathroom that has teh toilet right next to the shower. We put a removable showerhead on the shower and use it as a diaper sprayer. Water gets every where! But it does the job. It would be nice to have a REAL diaper sprayer for this though.

We have an 11 week old ebf boy and 18 month girl both in cloth and no sprayed.... So we toss pop files in the shower and use our removable shower head to rinse, wait till kids are occupied or asleep then spend the next 10 min or so washing the bath tub...... Dunk and swish doesn't work with a toddler trying to help, toss and go is better.

Sprayer/dunk... I spray, but then the dunk sorta happens on its own since I have to hold the diaper low to try not to get Sea World style splash zone next to the toilet. :o)

I use our downstairs shower that has a floor drain to spray off our diapers. I'm really wanting a diaper sprayer for the toilet so I don't have to clean out the shower every time (especially with a baby coming in 4 weeks!)

Anonymous said...

When we lived in our apartment the shower head was long enough to reach to the toilet and I loved it, now we are not so lucky and I would love a diaper sprayer.

Juliana said...

Shake off as much solids as possible in the toilet. Rinse. Soak in an Eco-friendly free & clear detergent, machine wash.

I am currently a dunker! I shake, and shake, and shake, and the poopie stays stuck! I am now doing the whole dunk and swish because I am tired of whole peices of undigested food getting stuck in the washer-YUCK! i could SOOO use a diaper sprayer!

I just started with cloth diapers a couple weeks ago. Picked up 3 one-size: a FuzziBunz, a BG 4.0, and a BG Elemental. While I'm primarily using them on my newborn now, I tried one on my toddler and he had a tarry #2. My husband tried cleaning him for the first time like this but didn't know what to do with the mess. Afterward, I just put on a disposable glove and swishes it around in the toilet like other ladies mentioned. It came off decently and was perfect after washing! At this point, I've budgeted for October to install a DIY diaper sprayer as Sept, I'm getting prefolds for our newborn, and plan for more CDs for our toddler starting in October. I'm really loving this! :-)

We just started cloth diapers 2 weeks ago and got 3 One Size. While these were initially for our 2 month old, I tried one on our toddler just to see. He had #2'd and my husband wasn't too happy about trying to clean it. However, I just put on a disposable glove and swished it around in the toilet which worked out fine. :-) I am planning to install a DIY sprayer though in October to make CDs on our toddler an easier 'sell' to my husband. lol
