I started wearing my son because he was a fussy newborn and I couldn't get anything done if I didn't wear him. Now, I wear him when we are out and about and I either don't want to bring the stroller or he is tired of it. I don't know what I would do without my carriers.

I've been using my Moby wrap since my youngest son was born. I love how comfortable it fits even now that he is 13 months old. I've worn him everywhere - and always wear him when I go grocery shopping. I love being hands free and still "holding" him.

I do wear my baby, but not as much as I want to/should/planned to. I hold him ALL the time, but since he wants to be in my arms then out to explore then come back, it's just easier to hold him with my arms rather than get him in and out of a carrier of some sort. That said, I DO wear him sometimes while cleaning and when we're shopping or something like that. I do it because I LOVE having him close and he loves to be close... good for bonding and security and all that. Plus, it makes things easier to be hands free :)

I love to wear my son and he loves to be worn! We use a moby, peanut shell, baby k'tan, my baby nest and dad wears him in a baby bjorn.

I'm not sure why I ever put him in the stroller as he usually winds up being worn and I'm pushing the stroller without him in it!

I sure do wear my kiddos (or well, I will wear the next one when it comes- I am currently wearing him or her internally!)! It seemed to be the only way I could keep my son happy and content- especially while shopping! It was also a great way to get him to fall asleep! A wrap is pretty much the only style carrier I haven't tried! I LOVE babywearing!

I wear our twins at the same time usually when it's just me. I have a Kangaroo Korner adjustable pouch and a ring sling, wearing the twins is especially helpful when taking our preschooler into school, I don't have to wheel in the big bulky double stroller. Almost as soon as they get in they fall asleep, it has been helpful when they are teething and can't fall asleep as well. It is awkward to do some things but it works well for us.

I wear my son in a ring sling that I made frequently. I wear it a lot when we go places so that I can have my hands free. I had also used a carrier kind of like a Bjorn but found that I hardly used it.. It took more time to get set up than I cared for.. plus my oldest grew out of it WAY quick.. I would love to win this one! I have been having some back trouble lately and read that a Moby type wrap would be easy on my back.

I used a baby bjorn when both of my kids were newborns but quickly abandoned it each time because not only was it uncomfortable, it was so hot!! We live in Florida and after just a few minutes outside both me and the baby would be sweating like crazy! I am looking into alternative babywearing methods for baby#3 coming in May!

Tatum is a pretty clingy baby and although I'd love nothing more then to just sit and cuddle with her all day, that's just no possible. Enter the Baby K'Tan! It's so easy and fast to put on, so even if I'm heading to the grocery store for a few items it's totally worth it to put on. Tatum gets her cuddling and I get my hands free!

I lovd wearing my son and look forward to doing the same with #2. I've mainly used a ring sling and an infantino carrier and would really like trying something like a moby, as I've heard many rve reviews. We so enjoyed the closeness of carrying our son and he seemed to as well.

I love baby wearing! All of my baby girls have had their time in a sling and then a baby bjorn. I bought a Slingling for DD#3 and love it! No adjusting, just put it over my shoulder and plop baby in!

We went out for Easter and I just had DD in it and she was so comfy and like PP noted, no nosy people touching her! Actually I had her in her stroller for the 2nd time (she is almost 5 months) at the mall and we both hated it! I thought it would be easier!

We went strawberry picking yesterday and I tried the back carry on the mei tai, loved it! (I will have to post the pic on my blog!)

For today's entry I'd like to say that I love wearing my son because it makes for very productive time together! Its wonderful to have him so close especially knowing that it won't be too long that I get to keep him that way!

Kelly said...

The baby bjorn that (thankfully) a friend loaned us never worked for me, so I bought a Peanut Shell sling. It works pretty decently, but I think the sizing may be a little off for me. I am all for baby wearing, I just haven't found the right thing for me. My daughter is just over one now, but we want to do some hiking this summer, so I think I may get an ergo carrier. Of course, if I win this wrap, that would be awesome!

Brinn said...

Well, I've used a variety of slings when I hold my niece and nephew - and they are so much more comfortable than the Baby Bjorn my husband prefers! I have a bad back, but I want to keep my baby close to me so they feel secure, and so I feel secure enough to have my arms free to push the stroller, or pick up the fallen pacifier! I've found the slings and wraps are far more comfortable on my shoulders and back than other carrier types. I've seen how it soothes my niece and nephew, and since I am expecting my first child this July, I am getting ready to stock up on all these goodies for myself! Plus, I have decided to cloth diaper, and I am so excited about that decision! Wish me luck!

I have been wearing my son in various carriers since he was born. I first started with the ring sling and found that he became too long for the cradle hold too quickly! We started the tummy to tummy, and eventually the kangaroo hold (which I love). I also purchased an ergo a few weeks ago and I love it. It take a little longer to put on than the sling but it the best for long walks. I wear him out of convenience and because he hates strollers. We get looks everywhere we go too, so it is an attention getter if you want it!

When my son first came home from the hospital, my babywearing days began! We started out with a Maya Wrap Ring Sling and I loved it! It was so simple to put on and Brendan was cozy and content in there. We've used other slings & carriers along the way, but the ring sling was my favorite for carrying him on errands (so much easier than lugging around the carseat or stroller) and for those days he just wanted to be held.

I wear my 5 month old when we go out to the grocery store or shopping. It is so much easier to wear him than to lug his car seat around. It seems he enjoys being closer to me when we are out and about. I use a sleepy wrap which is like a moby, and sometimes an infantino carrier (I don't like that one but it is good when I am too lazy to put the wrap on. Although I can't wear him for very long in the infantino as it hurts my back.)The first time I used the sleepy wrap my little one slept for 3 hours and I got a ton of stuff done around the house! It was great!

We have a NoJo sling and it can be very uncomfortable after a while. I would like to try something that won't put my spine out of alignment (has happened and is very painful to have back spasms!!!) Which is why I don't carry my daughter as much as I used to or we both would like.

I've been wearing my, now, 6 month old son from Day 1. We tried a Hotsling, but neither of us liked it so I purchased a Moby. We both fell in love with it and use it all the time. Seamus is a bit of a demanding baby and the Moby has certainly saved my sanity. I also love that I can put it on before leaving the house so I don't have to fuss with it when we reach our destination. It is so comfortable and easy to use. I did purchase a much more expensive Mei Tai recently but I keep returning to the Moby. I honestly cannot say enough good things about the Moby!
