The disposables I would so give to someone who needed them bc I am soo in love with cloth. I would have to educate them on cloth though and where to get them, so that they could save up their money while using the disposables to get their own stash of fluff :)

I have to be honest. If I won 500 disposable diapers I would keep some for a rainy day (when I was sick or just behind on laundry for some reason). I would give my missionary friend as many as she thought she could use. She uses cloth at home, but often uses sposies when they go places. She is expecting again, so she will probably do some sposies during the transition from 3 to 4 kids. The rest I would donate.

Ally said...

I would definetly donate them, there is no way I would go back to using them. Cloth diapers are too much fun!

Madison {Life Happens During Naptime} said...

Hmmm....I would save the disposables for road trips and then doante them if my son outgrew them before we could use. OR I'd give them to a friend who disposable diapers.

I would donate most of the diapers, but keep a few because my daughter has to use disposables at the babysitter's house. I love your blog, by the way!

hollyreneehan@yahoo.com said...

I used the disposables that my coworkers brought our newborn (for the first couple weeks). But we so much prefer and love cloth diapers that I would never imagine using 500 disposies again. We put our firstborn in cloth when she was 5 months old, and I never regretted it...just wished I'd done it sooner. Now with our second baby, I was willing to use disposies during the first week or so because they were given to us as gifts...but beyond that, I'd say return the diapers to the store for refund or donate them to a pregnancy care center. In just the couple weeks of using up the gifted disposies on our newborn recently, I am reminded of all the things I didn't like about disposies...

I was also thinking that I could make them into cute little diaper cakes and then donate them to the local pregnancy crisis center. I'm sure those mamas would enjoy a little celebration for their babe!
I could even donate a new cloth diaper and put it in the cake with directions. :)

I would be very grateful, but now that I LOVE cloth diapering, I would probably donate them to the Plumas County Crisis Center for those in more need than myself. I know that they would probably go to families that have lost their jobs at the Quincy Mill, so that would make me very satisfied with my donation.

Heather said...

I would see if they were diapers that my cousin, who is due in November would like to have. After checking with her I would donate the remainder of the diapers to a childcare center or another facility that could use them.

I have your button...also on my comment before...I some how missed that there were 500 diapers. I don't think I would need 500 diapers to diaper my soon to be three children. I guess I would use some of them for my three kids, but I would probably donate a lot of them to either the local crisis pregnancy center and possibly give some to friends.

Donating is awesome. But if I was donating actual diapers, I'd rather share the cloth love. So I think I'd take them to WalMart and return them. Then the money from those diapers could be broken up into smaller gift cards or used to buy children's clothing that can go to a Women's Shelter.

Reposting since I forgot to include my twitter and facebook ID

Well, I'm from Alaska (I live in vegas now) and there are a lot of very poor families out in the bush and up in the villages. A lot of Alaskan Native mothers out in the remote villages have next to nothing for their kids and as much as I would love to convert the world to cloth, I would donate those diapers to them. It's hard enough to get into town to buy diapers and supplies when your paying hundreds of dollars of fuel for your snowmobile or the one good working vehicle in the village. Plus most families recycle and burn their paper/plastics in their wood stoves and incinerators out there in the villages so they wouldn't end up in a land fill.

Thats what I would do with them

My FB is www.facebook.com/irishheathen and my twitter is also @irishheathen
