Gro Baby: Two Snaps Up!

Two Snaps Up!

Gro Baby launched their revolutionary diaper a few months ago and it quickly became a cloth diaper favorite. Now, added to the Gro Baby family is the Vanilla color Gro Baby diaper, now available with Snaps!

Now, there are some hand-offs between the hook and loop version and the snaps version and I’m here to highlight them in order to help you determine which diaper will work best for you and your little one!

Hook and Loop

The original Gro Baby diaper features a new, proprietary hook and loop that is soft and non-pilling. Although many people complain how hook and loop (aka Velcro or Aplix) ages over time - this diaper continues to look and feel great wash after wash! Additionally, with this unique hook and loop you get endless adjustments in the waist to accommodate the fluffy bellied or slim bellied child without the scratchy hook and loop irritating your little one’s tummy!

Pros:
Hook and Loop version allows for tab “directionality” (ie. you can start by fastening
either tab first since they can overlap in either direction).
Virtually limitless adjustments, providing the best possible fit.

Con:
* If your little one is prone to strip off their diapers, then it’s very easy to do with this diaper!

Snaps

The new Gro Baby diaper with Snaps is essentially identical to its sister, except there is no hook and loop closure material on the front - so the entire diaper is constructed from PUL (polyurethane laminate). The waist snaps are the same super durable YKK snaps the diaper utilizes for the rise adjustment; they’re virtually toddler proof.

Pro:
Snaps are very strong and durable, no streaking toddler with these!
No need to prepare the tabs for laundry

Con:
* Limited adjustments for fastening the diaper

The new snap version gets “two snaps up.” However, I’m still a bit partial to the original because I love the unique hook and loop and how quick and easy it is to adjust!

I think I might like to try the snap version but I really love the GroBaby just like it was.

Thank you for the video. I love seeing the diapers "in action". My son is equally active and snaps are definitely harder to put on him, however, the hook-and-loops are so easy for him to take off! It's a difficult decision!

Great review of this diaper, it sounds great! I think I'd still choose snaps over hook and loop even if the hooks aren't scratchy because my kids take off the velcro diapers!

I have tried Gro Baby diapers, we have the original Hook & Loop. I lke it, but my 2 year old has a very easy time streaking. I'd love to try the snaps to see if this eliminates the problem. My 8 month old can go a whole night (10 hours) with a Gro Baby on (with just the insert and booster) and we have NO leaks. I love them!

Great video! I love love love love (did I mention "love" yet?) the GroBaby in BOTH the aplix and snap but think that the snap is now my favorite for sleeping times--she loves to take them off when I'm not looking!

It is a hard decision of which one to use. My son takes off diapers too but I like aplix because you can adjust it a lot more. I liked the video.

This was great to see. I use the velcro and love the gro-baby system as is, however, my little lady like to pull them off when she doesn't have any thing on. I am tempted to try the snap but I love the freedom to adjust and readjust.

I really like the snap version, it seems bigger than the hook and loop.

Lol I LOVE this video! My baby does the exact same thing when I try to change her diaper. It's like a little mini wrestling match, jk :) This video makes me want to try the Grobaby snap version!

My son is a stripper. I can barely get his pants on quick enough to keep the hook and loop diapers on him. Snaps are a toddler must!!

I ordered a couple of these in the snap version. The hook & loop sounds good, but my 7 1/2 month old son is already taking his diapers off, so snaps it has to be.

I have a hard time deciding which version to buy - I think I'll get a couple of snap closures, but also the aplix (for the cute colors)

I love these videos! I guess I'm lucky that my daughter has never tried to take off her diapers (12 months) YET, b/c I think velcro is so much easier. So I'm excited about the soft hook and loop!!!

Great video...such a cutie you have. I love the fact that I can put my daughter on the medium setting w/ the GroBaby's where as she is on the largest setting w/ the Organic Bum Genius's.

I would love to add one of the new vanilla snaps version to my stash because I'm in love w/ the GroBaby system & we really love snaps too! (Crossing fingers & praying that I might actually win a FF for once).

The video is so great! I have been wanting to try a Gro Baby and this seals the deal but I am still torn on which type. I like hook and loop b/c it's so easy but the snaps are what I really want.

I can't wait to try these for baby #2...I'm leaning toward the aplix even though my #1 learned how to undo it too early!

I too love the original GroBaby. I have the kiwi I got from Kelly's CLoset :) but I would also like to try the vanilla snaps since my 19 month old likes to streak.

I have been wanting to try GroBaby diapers for a while now and I think I am going to get some with the snaps. All of my diapers are hook and loop - I've never had any with snaps. I can't wait to try them!

Wow, I'm impressed! They look like a great fit and I like the idea of the non-scratchy velcro! I would probably still go with the snaps though- can't wait till they come out with more colors in the snap version!

I love the look of this velcro. Very different from other hook and loop closures. Can't wait to try it when I get my new Gro Baby diaper!

i have to admit, though i'm more of a snaps girl, i love the soft non-pilling gripability of the hook and loop on the grow baby. i was really quite impressed with it!
That said, i do love snaps, so i really hope that someday i get to try out the vanilla grobaby on snapdragon's bottomside!

I love the video- so cool! And the unique hook and loop is very intriging. I want to try out this diaper!

I have the snap and I like it, but I am partial to snap diapers anyways.

They are hard to put on my 1 yr old . . he is hard to keep still for that long.
