We use Purex Free Clear. I know it's not recommended because of the brighteners, but we've had no problems after 18 months of washings. I really wish there were other cloth approved options readily available in our area.

I use the Planet Ultra detergent. But I think I am going to try Charlie's when this runs out.
I use Kirkland environmentally friendly detergent from Costco. It works really well and is well priced. According to Costco it "features biodegradable cleaning agents and plant based formulas; contains no phosphates, dyes, optical brighteners or bleaches." So it seems like a good choice.

I use Purex Free and Clear and it works fabulously! I also put in a scoop of oxiclean. I love that I can pick both up at our local stuffmart, rather than having to order it from somewhere or drive to our not-as-local natural foods store.

I just received my first cloth diapers in the mail this week and have not even thought about washing them yet. (Baby will not be here for another month.) But, I have heard good things about Charlie's soap and plan to start with that one.
I also follow your blog.
I've used BioKleen liquid, Nellie's Laundy Soda, and baking soda/simple green. I have a box of tiny bubbles ready to try and I'm getting a sample of Sunday's Wash (etsy shop) nursery detergent in the mail soon.

When we start cloth diapering this fall we plan on using Allens Natural or Charlies (which seems to be pretty popular from friends we know to the comments on this post).
So far we've used Tide HE Free & Rocking Green on our diapers.
Would love to try Charlies, but we have 2 more bottles of Tide to use before DH will let me try more (he fussed about the sample of Rocking Green)
