Product Focus: Babylegs

BabyLegs LLC has grown from one mom’s diaper bag essential to an essential product for all. They began as a solution to keep little legs warm, and now the uses are endless!

Nicole Donnelly, then a stay-at-home mom, created BabyLegs® to keep her dear daughter, Sara’s, little legs warm, while she was diaper free to allow bad rashes to heal. This impromptu invention not only allowed Sara’s rash to heal, but also protected her from many elements, made diaper changes quick and easy, kept her knees protected while crawling, and provided sun protection. Beyond all of these benefits, the leg warmers were also very fashionable. After numerous inquiries from other moms about where Donnelly found the little leg warmers, she began selling her invention out of a diaper bag! Now, BabyLegs® can now be found in over 50 countries from Israel to Chile to Iceland.

BabyLegs® are made from a variety of materials ranging from lusciously soft to organic for those who prefer natural fabrics:
  • SuperSoft –100% Polyester
  • Original – 80% Cotton, 15% Polyester, 5% Spandex
  • Organic Cotton BabyLegs – 80% Organic Cotton, 15% Polyester, 5% Spandex
  • Vermont Organic Wool BabyLegs – 88% Natural Organic Wool, 11% Nylon, 1% Lycra *LYCRA is a registered trademark of INVISTA
  • Vermont Organic Cotton BabyLegs - 87% Natural Organic Cotton, 12% Nylon, 1% Lycra * LYCRA is a registered trademark of INVISTA
BabyLegs® stylish leg and arm warmers are a fun and innovative product created from true necessity. Since Spring of 2005, BabyLegs® warmers have grown from one mom’s diaper rash solution to a wardrobe essential. What’s even more exciting than creating a new product that moms have come to love; is that BabyLegs® will be providing more products for us to love! BabyLegs will be bringing their fabulous insight in fashion, design, and quality into their new line of socks and tights providing protection, warmth, & style for little legs & feet!

That is our rash to riches story – we hope you enjoy our sweet BabyLegs®.

I have never had a pair of Baby Legs for my boys. They are growing on me though as I see more "boyish" designs coming out. I think I am going to have to give them a try with another cold winter just around the corner. . .

I love the babylegs I have. They look so cute on dd and her legs are staying warm on cooler nights (I know, cooler nights in August.... crazy!).

I keep a pair in my diaper bag at all times. Even though it is August, you never know when you'll be in the grocery store wishing you'd brought something to cover up the kid and his goosebumps!
Great product, great price.

My wee Elliott has worn BabyLegs every day of his life...well, since he came home from being delivered.

We love the BabyLegs for a million reasons. Great, superuseful product, and too cute to boot!

We have a pair of baby legs for my son and we love it! It made diaper changes a breeze and they were just too cute to go along with his onesies

I had no idea how these came to be! I love them, and have 2 boys...if our next one is a girl, I"ll have to pace myself or I'll own more than a couple of pairs!

These are on my wish list, I'm new to cloth diapering and I can see that these would be a great product to have.

I think leg warmers will be great in a very long cold winter with three munchkins. It will probably be great for layering under clothes for going out and for keeping legs warm but diapers easy to get to inside!

babylegs are so great, especially when pants don't fit well over a bulky CD bottom!

I've been wanting to get a pair for my son ever since he was born! Hubby thought they were girly at first, but I think he's come around. :)

So, how do you wash them? They say handwash only on them. When my baby kicks her leg during a diaper change and gets poo on the cuff, is it really going to mess it up if I throw it in the washer? I think they are cute, but a tiny bit spendy and I don't want to ruin them! Thank you!

I always thought these were "weird", but I'm oddly attracted to them now.

I love the idea of trying these out for my daughter. We have hardwood floors throughout most of the house, so these would give her a little more protection on her knees, and the designs are really cute.

These look super cute. I have never had these for my children but I am wanting to try them now!

I absolutely love baby legs. I love putting them under a dress in the winter. I don't have to worry about legs getting cold. I really need to start updating our baby legs though. We only have 1 pair per girl. HAHA! And there seems to be so many more options now.

These are so cute. I'm glad someone came up with them.

Andrea: I've never handwashed our BabyLegs - honestly, never even paid attention to the laundering recommendations - I figured they were virtually just like socks and I wash them just as I wash my regular laundry. I haven't noticed a problem with machine washing our BabyLegs - however, I suppose they will look newer longer if they are handwashed.

I think you can easily wash them in the machine - just be sure to separate all your colors (we actually have a light colors, medium colors, dark colors and jeans sorting system going - so the kids clothes are essentially being washed with the same types of fabrics which helps reduce wear and tear on your laundry).

I hope this helps!

Katie: Here's from the BabyLegs website regarding where their products are made:

Q: Where are BabyLegs made?

A: China and the United States. The Natural Organic Cotton and Natural Organic Wool BabyLegs designs are made in Vermont, USA. All other organic and standard BabyLegs are manufactured in China and our current manufacturer is wonderful. We found them through their trade affiliations.

Babylegs are amazing. From the beginning for an extra layer on our wee baby, to knee protection when learning to crawl, to leg coverage when potty training - we have gotten a lot of mileage out of our Babylegs! I just put a pair on our new baby for the first time today too! In addition to their incredible usefulness, Babylegs are SO adorable. My girls looked so cute today all 'legged' up!

I think BLs are so cute! I'm already building up a stash of them to give as shower gifts and to keep -even though I only have a boy and my husband refuses to let him wear them. :( So I'm saving them for my future girl!
