My stash is mostly prefolds and I'm happy with them. Not too "exciting" but work great and their my favorite because of the price.

My favorite style are pockets because they are fairly simple and seem to work better than all in ones. And they dry fast.

Interesting question! I think the hybrid/aI2 are a great idea like gro baby and gDiaper. It's always great to have options and reusable parts!

gretchen said...

I used fitteds and covers with my first, but am looking at all the options for the new baby.

EarthMama said...

I have a mixture of the different types and i prefer each one for different things.
I love the AIOs for ease of use especially when someone else is baby sitting.
I prefer hybrid types like gro baby and flip for going out to the store and such because it's so much less to pack.
I generally use prefolds and covers like the econobum for just hanging out around the house.
And of course you can't beat fitteds with fleece or wool covers/longies for nightime use!

Currently, I have almost all one-sized pocket diapers. However, I won a Grobaby from you guys on Black Friday and I love it SO MUCH! It is easily my favorite diaper now! It's so trim on my daughter, and fits her so wonderfully! The insert is extremely absorbent and dry next to her skin. I love that you can simply trade out one insert for another when wet--though I haven't bought any more inserts so I haven't been able to do that yet. In any case, This is currently my favorite! :-)

Out of the diapers that I currently use (prefolds and fitteds) I prefer the fitteds with a cover. I do have one bumgenius organic AIO that I really like. I would love to get more AIO or AI2 for a diaper bag stash but finances are prohibitive. I would LOVE to try these grobabys out and I especially like that they are in snaps. A+ I have found with multiple children that snaps last way better than aplix or touchtape. My oldest is potty training but I have another on the way so will soon have 2 in diapers again.

I prefer pockets and hybrids. Pockets because of the ease to put on and the excellent job they do overnight, and hybrids (I use Flip) because of the cost savings and ease for traveling (they take up less space in the diaper bag than any other diaper I've tried).

I love the ease of our 1 AIO and the concept of an AI2, but pockets seem to work best for our heavy wetter because we can customize the number and fabric choice (bamboo, hemp, etc.) of the inserts.

My favorite will probably always be pocket diapers but lately I've been preferring fitteds and covers. I like that you can switch up the absorbency with pockets and that they are so quick to dry, but the biggest bonus is that people who don't normally cloth diaper can use them with no problems or confusion

My favorite style of cloth diapers is pockets. I like them the best because I can stuff them as soon as they're washed and then they are ready and waiting to just be put right on the bum when needed. They are perfect for use when we got out, and the absorbency is customizable.

I prefer pocket diapers. Initially I was set on Velcro ones but since seeing how the BumGenius 3.0 have worn over the last 6 months I am making the switch to snaps.

Hubby and I thought snaps were too difficult at first but when you consider how long they last compared to the Velcro it is worth it.

Oooh, I've been wanting to try out the Gro Baby diapers! We've tried 'em all, but my favorite style is definitely pocket diapers (though the Gro Baby shell/pad system looks like it has the same things I'm looking for!) I like being able to adjust the absorbency and my pocket diapers dry faster than my AIOs. They're easy to use: husband and babysitter friendly.

I don't have experience with every kind listed, but I think a diaper with removable stuffing/absorbency, like a pocket, is the best of both worlds. I'm interested to see how Gro Baby works!

patty-leigh said...

i prefer a pocket-style aio, because they're so convenient and easy for dads & daycare. also nice to be able to separate the stuffing from the cover for better/easier washing. but a prefold is awesome because it's easier to get clean. =)

My fave style right now is AIOs or AI2s because they're so easy. I like fitteds for nighttime with wool pants. I like fitteds and covers but find it's hard to fit the fitted inside a wrap cover or a pull-on soaker underneath pants. SO, AIOs work well for most cases.

While pocket diapers are a must for night time, I find myself most often reaching for the bg organic os aio's. I just LOVE how trim they are and they are such a breeze to change!

DH, though, like the ai2's; he feels like he gets "more bang for his buck" so to speak when he can reuse the cover a couple time.

I would love to try these snaps. We dig our gro babies, but snaps have become preferable since DD likes to remove her diaper!
