I've used disposables and flip/g covers with gdiaper flushable inserts for longer trips. For weekend trips to grandma's I take pocket diapers, since I have access to a washer/dryer!

I have been CD'ing for almost 4 years now. I have traveled a lot in that time. On our 5 week trip overseas, I even took our whole lot of diapers with us and used the washing machines at the friend's house we were staying at.
Mostly, if it isnt too long of a trip (as they havn't really been) I just take a large wet bag!

I typically don't use cloth when I travel any longer than a shopping/grocery trip. I will use disposables (tushies or huggies natural) :( . I haven't quit gotten over the bulk (a lot more space is needed in luggage for cloth diapers both there and back) or how to handle poop (don't like the idea of dunking in someone else's toilet and disposable liners don't always catch everything). I have thought it would be nice to try one of the cloth systems that have disposables for traveling.

I have BG sized AIOs that I usually like using when we're out shopping or running errands. If we are going on a longer trip, I stuff the AIOs with a small bamboo or hemp doubler to increase absorbency and prevent compression leaks. I use mainly BG pockets for nighttime. I prefer to use diapers with a stay-dry layer during nights and long trips so that my son will be more comfortable. For going out, I prefer to take trimmer AIOs and pockets so that I can fit more in my diaper bag.

We took our first big trip over the holidays, and because we were gone for the week w/no laundry, we made the rough decision to use 7th Generation 'sposies. What a nightmare! I have CD my DD since we brought her home from the hospital, and I couldn't stand the 'sposies. They feel like icky paper, gave DD a rash, and we had our first ever blowout at a rest stop in Delaware - gigantic and of course her backup outfit was across the rest area with daddy in the diaper bag! We were so happy to get home to our Bummis OG prefolds, Thirsties Duo covers, BG 4.0's and Tots Bots Easy Fits!

Next time we travel, I need a better solution!

I have used Pampers baby dry, Gdiapers with gCloths, and flips with gRefills. I loved traveling with flips my friend lended me two for the trip with some gRefills. When I got to my destination I bought the cloth inserts for them and used them on our vacation. I like the gdiapers but they leak when he is sleeping or in the carseat. I got tired of buying pampers because they were 5 dollars more!

When we drove from Nova Scotia, Canada, to Cincinnati, Ohio, when our son was three months old, I thought, let's just use disposables cuz they take up less room, and we don't have to carry dirty diapers everywhere. My husband on the other hand, didn't like the idea of our son sitting in disposables for three days. So, we put him in his usual fuzzy bunz. It was a great idea, as every time he has a number 2 in a disposable he bursts out the tops, so I'm thankful for no diaper rash, and no explosions!!!

I've used disposables when traveling, only to have her leak all over her clothes. So, as much as possible, I like to haul along the cloth. I haven't done any major trips yet though, just one hour away for one night so far. I really am leaning more to the Flip system for going out- it's the most compact and versatile way to haul cloth. I do need a portable wet bag though.
