KaWaii One Size Diaper Review

I was looking for a few more diapers in my stash.  I hadn't tried the KaWaii One Size Pocket Diapers - and the price was right.  I ordered four of the suedecloth diapers with aplix closures.

When I got them, I was surprised at the quality of the fabric.  The outer shells were soft and durable.  The luandry tabs were perfectly placed and the two inserts were much nicer than I had expected.  The colors were vibrant and the design of the diaper seemed very smart - overall.

However, in my experience with cloth diapers - some of the best looking diapers can be some of the worst wearing diapers.  I was a little skeptical.  So I washed them.

Again, I was pleasantly surprised.  The outer shells dried - just hanging in my laundry room for about an hour.  By that time, the inserts were ready to be pulled from the dryer.  I was more than ready to try them on my heavy-wetting eight month old son for his nap.

My boy usually soaks through any diaper I put him in at naptime.  For whatever reason, he seems to wet more during his naps than at any other time during the day.  I used only one insert - and the bright red KaWaii One Size Diaper for his nap.  When he woke, I went in - fully expecting a soaked blanket.  To my delight, I found his bedclothes DRY.  When I took the diaper off - the insert was wet, but the suedecloth felt dry against his skin.  That was the best part for me - knowing that my boy was comfortable and didn't have to feel wet when his diaper was soaked.

The fit is excellent.  Snug - without seeming tight or leaving red marks.  And the Aplix closure offers an easy adjustable fit.  The diaper isn't bulky and there aren't any areas where it seems too loose.

I am completely impressed with these diapers.  With cloth diapers - I have often subscribed to the "you get what you pay for" philosophy.  So I wasn't expecting much from these bargain priced diapers.

Thankfully they have exceeded my expectations.  I can't wait to add more of these to my son's diaper collection.

I am so glad these worked for you! We have gotten a few as a "free" diaper and since our baby hasn't arrived yet we haven't tried them. However, I was skeptical that they wouldn't work as well. Now I'm relieved :)

We received one free Kawaii diaper from Kelly's Closet and it's worked great so far! The babysitter even likes it :)

These really are great diapers, esp for the price! I have gotten different varieties of them (suedecloth lining, microfiber lining, applix, and snaps), and I think I much prefer the microfiber lined diapers with snaps. I looove that these are on the larger size bc I have a tall boy, plus I like knowing he won't grow out of them any time soon (he's 16 months now and on the smallest snap setting still). I really like that green you show off in the photo. May have to be the next color I get of this brand :)

We love our KaWaii diapers! Our favorite is the Minky Bamboo Mom label. We especially like the front panel of this diaper. Works well for our heavy wetter through the night and during the day! Can't beat the price for bamboo! We get our from jackbenatural :o)

I agree...they really are great diapers for the money. Very similar to GoGreen diapers (excluding The Champ). I also have a few of the Night Time KaWaii Babys, and they are great at stopping leaks, too! My 9mo old sleeps 12-14 hours a night and also wets more when sleeping than when awake. These definitely keep her and her clothes/bedding dry and comfortable (I double stuff them at night).

I'd love to try one of their overnights, but I can't seem to find any!

Now if Kelly's closet would have a wider variety of these i would be set :)

I hear a lot about these diapers and was very curious. Thank you so much for a being a neutral party and reviewing them. We are in the process of getting some OS dipes and I think I just might these!

Thank you, thank you for doing a review on these! I have been wanting to try them, but was also hesitant due to their cheap price.

I had a horrible experience with these diapers. I'm glad they are working for you though.

We too love Kawaii diapers! Tried the goodnight out on our heavy wetting toddler (after many nighttime fails) & he woke dry each morning! Loved them so much we sold a handful of our gently loved other pocket diapers & were able to replace them with a dozen brand new Kawaiis (in varying styles & prints). Quality diaper for an excellent price..can't beat that!

I have two Kawaii one sizes--one is the overnight, one is just the regular with snaps. I like the regular one with snaps (except the fit is weird, so it's a 'Mommy Only' diaper). I agree the colors on both are gorgeous.
However, the NIGHTTIME diaper cover felt rough. I washed everything up a few times, but the nighttime diaper, when worn over night, left a giant blister/welt on my daughter's leg! I tried not fitting it as snug, same thing. Kept looking like she was getting pinched. Contacted the company and they said the diapers need to be broken in, like new shoes, so we've been throwing the cover BACK in the wash even though it wasn't worn, but alas. Same blister. She doesn't wear the daytime as long, but it was in rotation this past week and what do we have? Another blister!! :(
We use FB OS and BG OS's and have never had this trouble. I'm so disappointed. I loved the colors and the fit, but I can't justify using these much if at all. And now I'm afraid of using the free coupons at Kelly's Closet because that's how I got these two!
It's worth it to get free shipping with no free diaper somewhere else than risk getting another one of these!

I completely agree with this review. I took a chance on these because 'the price was right'. I have only used the fleece lined diapers, and I have to say these are my favorite. The exterior is soft and durable. Also, the aplix is the best on of any of my other diapers. I have no fuzzies and I rarely ever have a diaper chain. I have used these just as long as some of my more popular brand diapers, and the KaWaii's are holding up better! I am a fan and recommend these diapers to everyone I meet

I have been using the Kawaii daipers on my son for about 8 months now and I'm still amazed at how well they have held up. They get stinky every once in a while, but the BG AIO we used to use did too. The price can't be beat and I'm in-love with these dipes!

I actually got that diaper free with a Kelly's Closet promotion and I do find it very soft and absorbent but for some reason the aplix with those fabric around it always scratches the tops of my daughter's thighs. I haven't given up on it yet though but I prefer their other Velcro tabs that are smaller with no fabric around it. Never had a leak and snug fit around the thigh. She too is a heavy wetter.

I received one free with an order from Kelly's Closet. I had no idea it was so inexpensive until a while after I got it because it seemed so nice. I'm new to CD'ing and so I don't have much experience, but I really liked it as well. I leave it for my hubby to use since it's an easy one!

We like all the features of the Kawaii, unfortunately they seem to give my son a rash on his belly, even with lots of hemp stuffed inside. I'm guessing it is because the lining goes all the way up, opposed to BG/ FLIPs have the polyester shell on the inside as well to protect the belly skin...Otherwise i like them...

I LOVE Kawaii! they are my favorite brand! I just ordered a bunch more. : )

My only issue is they would not adjust to fit on a newborn. I bought them when my baby was 3 months old and they fit if I made it as small as it allowed. So for my next baby I'll have to purchase a few newborn diapers.

But I've had mine for about a year and they've held up awesome! and you certainly can't beat the price! so excited to see this on CDW! :)

I love the way the Kawaii washes up. A very reasonable priced diaper with decent quality.

I have 10 OS Kawaii with snaps that I use on my huge 37 lb 2 year old. They are a little snug, but not problematic at all and have worked amazingly well despite the fact that he normally soaks through everything. I really do love these diapers! And I am planning on using them when our new LO arrives in April.

I bought these to start my stash. I can't wait for the baby to FINALLY get here so I can try out the cute flowered diapers!

I love the Kawaii diapers...HOWEVER...I bought some as seconds...and I would not ever do that again. That was before I realized they were so darn cheap on theluvyourbaby.com!!! Big mistake. I don't know how the person treated them before I got them...but they create a diaper chain in the wash and have since decided to bring them to grammie's house and leave them there for emergencies!

kawaii diapers are awesome- We have tried all different types and so far, these are the best. They run a little large, which is great for those chunky legs!
