Christmas Eve At Our House

For Christmas Eve I thought it would be nice to have my 8 year old son write for the blog and to also let you know why Christmas Eve is extra special at our house :

"My name is Hanz and I am 8 years old and I was born February 25th, 2000. My Mom (Kelly Wels) works in the basement of our old house selling cloth diapers.

I help her fold and put together by brother Riley's diapers and wipes at our house.

My Mom started her job 8 years ago. I'm guessing she started her job because she loves babies. I have a sister Olivia, and a brother Riley."

My son Hanz is a great help to me. On Monday of this week I had to go into the shop for a bit and he helped me with lots of little things. What a special boy he his!

11 years ago I gave birth to my first child Olivia on Christmas Eve. What a wonderful Christmas gift she was. I had her at 2:32 pm. I didn't want to stay in the hospital for Christmas so I left with Olivia at 6:30pm!

This year Riley is having his first Christmas.
Today my family is coming over in the morning to celebrate Olivia's birthday. We are usually joined by my in-laws but my father in law was sick earlier this year and they were unable to make it this year.
In the afternoon, my very best friend Jenn of almost 30 years is coming over with her Mom and Grandpa. Grandpa is an avid musician and has his own band. We hope he brings his harmonica!
Christmas time is extra special for so many reasons.

Merry, Merry Christmas to you and your family! I love how the whole family is involved in "mom's business"! Your children seem especially helpful, loving, and caring! I am looking forward to seeing my oldest interact w our youngest when she is born in March/April. DD#1 is already trying to help change diapers and care for a baby by practicing w DD#2 (who, at 21 months, does not take well to being the baby and would rather try to be the next "big girl"!).

Thanks for sharing Kelly. It is so nice to get a glimpse every once in a while into the lives of others that I consider my "web" friends.

Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Merry Christmas!! How special to have Hanz write today's blog to share his thoughts on the family. :) Today sure must be a special day for your family, celebrating Riley's first Christmas, as well as Olivia's birthday. Today is similarly special for our family too. We are celebrating our son Brendan's first Christmas, as well as my grandfathers 90th birthday today!

You have a beautiful family, enjoy the blessings of this wonderful time of year.

less than 4 hours in the hospital after giving birth - you're superwoman! I left a day early and wished I would have stayed the full 2 days once I got home, just to get some sleep.
