I wore my daughter in a Hotsling pouch from the time she was born until she was about 7 months--mostly when she was fussy, or I wanted to keep her close. I tried a Baby Bjorn but found it to be pretty uncomfortable. And now (my daughter is 13 mos.) we use a mei tai--mostly when we go hiking--that way either my husband or I can wear her--back or front. I will probably wear my next baby much more--I totally want to try the Moby...

Do I ever!! Why? Well, why not? No, seriously. I guess because it keeps her happy. Especially while I am busy cooking or something. Plus, it is a great way to get her to sleep at a hockey game. :) And really she just loves to be held and I love to hold her.

I want to be a baby wearing mama because it seems to allow for productivity while also allowing for mommy and baby closeness. What could be better?

I wore my niece around all the time before I moved away and got preggo. It was so easy and comfortable!

Ammieloris said...

My husband and I both wear our baby around the house, the garden, the neighborhood, and out and about for errands. Sometimes we need free hands for cleaning and eating, and other times we need to give our arms a rest while carrying him around. We don't have a stroller, so we rely on our homemade ring sling, homemade wrap, and Pikkolo.

I wear my little boy in a moby wrap because it feels so good to have him. It makes all the pesky chores enjoyable because he's with me. I need a moby in at least a neutral color for my son, ours is pink or a deep shade of it.

YES! I absolutely wear my baby. The reasons why are many, and I continue to find new reasons. Wearing baby is so much more convenient than trying to get a stroller through tight store aisle. It doesn't kill my back like trying to lug around a baby in a carseat (she just keeps getting heavier). We both enjoy it. It's away to keep my little one close and still get some things done during the day. Etc., etc., etc.

I wear my baby because I love the closeness it brings to our relationship. Also I love having both hands free to shop! I always hated lugging around the bucket car seat so I bought a mei tai and I love it. I would love to try the moby!

I have two little girls under the age of two. My favorite time to wear the littlest one (age 5 months today!) is when we go grocery shopping. I wrap her securely to my body so the folks who generally love to grab her hands and cheeks to tell her how sweet she is can't see her. Then, after thoroughly sanitizing the shopping cart, I place my 22month old in it and am set for a peaceful hour of shopping, baby asleep and un-tampered with on my chest, and big girl directing traffic from the cart. Love my wrap!!!

I wear my daughter almost daily still, at almost 8 months! I wear her to keep her close and comfortable while we are out of the house, or to keep her happy while I clean, or just to calm her down when she is fussy.

I wear my little man in a home made ring sling until he got super heavy, now if I wear him it's usually in a front pack. Although I did pull out the ring sling and had him in it on my side the other day. He loves being in it and watching everyone :)

I wear my daughter because I strongly believe in, & embrace Attachment Parenting principles. I believe wearing my daughter has helped in creating the strong bond we have.

I use the Maya Wrap Ring Sling & love it. My daughter is 18 months old and I still put her in the sling when I'm out and about. The hip carry has always been my favorite.

Wear my kid? Occassionally. The baby bjorn never worked out for us, so I got a sling. I probably should have got a ring sling, as the one I seemed a little big. Nonetheless, from about the time my daughter was 4 months old, I did occasionally wear her...at the zoo, at parties, etc. But I never wore her exclusively, like around the house or anything. I have looked into ero carriers and am considering one. My daughter just turned one, so I think I would get some use out of one at the zoo this summer, as well as for future children. Also, we would like to do some hiking, so some carrier that both my husband and I could wear would be nice.

I definitely wear my babies. When my oldest was a baby she hated being in her carseat, so as soon as we got to a store or where ever we were going, I'd put her in the front pack and away we'd go. She loved it.

I now have a Moby wrap, and I absolutely love it. It's so snug and comfy! I use it daily for my 3 mo old nephew (I"m his sitter) and I'll be using it much more for our new baby due in Nov....I'll surely need all the hands free time I can get with 5 little ones in the house! Plus it's so nice for baby to be close to Mom....it truly is the only place new babies want to be!

I used a Mei Tai carrier with my first baby. I loved that it kept her so close and I could cuddle her while we were walking or doing errands. Plus it was so much easier to wear her while shopping than trying to fit the carseat in the grocery cart or the stroller in a crowded mall. I really want to try a Moby for baby #2 coming this fall b/c I've heard such great things about them...

I wear my Impling in a Sleepy Wrap and love it. I do it because it's only natural. I'd be carrying him anyway so why not have my hands free while I do it? We don't have a stroller and never have - not even when our Elf (who is now six) was little - he was in a Maya Wrap (but I really hated the rings). Everywhere we go, I wear the Imp and people ooh and aah and tell me how they wish they'd had one when they had small children. My husband wears him, too.

My oldest HATED being worn, which made me sad. Luckily, #2 is a snuggle bunny. He's probably in the sling more than he is out.

I used a moby style wrap (I make them, teehee) when he was itty bitty.

Once he could support his head better, I used the hotsling.

We use the mei tei carrier for our toddler when we're at the farmer's market and such...

I wore #2 when he was tiny b/c he fussy quite often. Now, we do it out of convenience (and the separation anxiety he's going through...lol)

I wore my first son all the time in a Hotsling, we used it until he was a little over 2. He wasn't a big baby, so it worked out, lol. My new little guy hates the Hotsling though, which really disappointed me because I bought a new one for him before he was born. He loves the Baby Bjorn though and is in it a large part of the day. Bad for me though because it kills my back. I've been looking at different carriers, trying to decide what to get. I'd narrowed it down to a Moby wrap or Mei Tei, so this would be the perfect week for me to win! I love wearing my baby and do it as much as possible.

A Moby awesome!!!! I have a Peanut Shell and a Hotsling, love them both. I bought it before my youngest was born and use it around the house so I can clean and she is getting held, always at the grocery store we have three kids and the boys go in the carts, and working in the back yard. She loves being held so a sling makes it super convenient for me. I love my slings and would love the chance to try a Moby.

I wear my baby when I can. It really is better for their social interaction to be up where you are and see what you see. They learn so much this way! Also baby loves being close to Mommy!
We have a NoJo sling and it can be very uncomfortable after a while. I would like to try something that won't put my spine out of alignment (has happened and is very painful to have back spasms!!!) Which is why I don't carry my daughter as much as I used to or we both would like.

She loved being in the sling and for quite a while when she was little it was about the only place she was really happy. I fully expect my next child, due in June, to start in the sling even earlier than Hannah did...how else am I going to be able to chase my 2-year-old??

Yes, I love my slings! My son has developmental delays and loves movement. His therapists say it is good for his 'vestibular' system. I carried in it before I knew that information. I just love to keep him close. I have a homemade pouch sling that I carry him in when he's trying to go to sleep (in cradle position) and I have a Moby that I use when he's awake. I love them both. I also trialed a baby K'tan- but I was inbetween sizes and it didn't work.
Oh and I have a solarveil sling for the water, too. Yes I'm addicted!

I have a Baby Bjorn that I use for my 6 month old. Passed down from her older sister. Didn't use as much with the first baby, but now as a SAHM, I find carrying baby makes both of us happy. I can get stuff done, and she is comforted by being close to me. After learning about attachment parenting, I truly see the benefit to wearing your baby! I believe that it promotes security and comfort, and helps increase that bond you have with your baby. Good for Daddy's too, to have that closeness....
