Product Focus: Belly Bandit

Abdominal wrapping, post delivery, has been around for centuries. Essentially, the Belly Bandit is an abdominal compression wrap designed to help reduce the swelling of the uterus, decrease bloating caused by water retention, support the legs and back and provide additional support for breast feeding moms. Tagless, latex-free, breathable and comfortable to wear under all clothing, the Belly Bandit wrap gives moms the support and confidence they deserve after childbirth, plus helps to constrict the skin and minimize stretch marks.

Lori Caden is the creator of the Belly Bandit. Prior to the birth of her second child, she was looking for a safe and quick way to get her belly back into shape. She started researching and came across an article about how in many cultures women would wrap their bellies to hold in and exert pressure on their abdomen. She put together an uncomplicated homemade band and started wearing it all the time. It felt great and to her surprise, her belly was noticeably smaller and tighter within a very short time. Lori quickly realized the importance of this ancient tradition and called on her two sisters to help her make an up- to-date version of the band, so other mothers could get similar results. In the fall of 2008, The Belly Bandit Company was born.
The Belly Bandit can be worn snuggly around the waist as soon as the day after delivery. Wearing it after a c-section may actually decrease the post-op recovery time by minimizing associated incision pain, which allows greater mobility post surgery. To reach maximum benefits, it should be worn for 6-8 weeks post delivery. The adjustable Belly Bandit Collection, which is proudly made in the U.S., comes in five sizes and three signature styles- Original and Couture (made from polyester and Lycra) and Bamboo (which is eco friendly, moisture wicking, anti bacterial, anti fungal, hypo allergenic, and is made from 95% bamboo and 5% spandex).

What makes the Belly Bandit so special?
  • Elastic- The elastic on the Bandits has the perfect amount of tension to straighten out your back without compressing too tightly and will NOT roll.
  • Material- Instead of sewing pieces of material together which breaks down the strength of the elastic, we chose to use only one piece of material for our Belly Bandit™. Our design wears better over time because the durability of the elastic isn’t compromised. All Belly Bandit® styles are 100% Latex Free.
  • Customized- Tailored specifically for a post-partum body with a standard 9” width which provide complete compression of the targeted area.
  • Comfort- Our rounded soft edges were created so you do not have excess material that digs, cuts or jabs your skin. Our material used will not bunch under your clothing. Our tag-less design will not irritate your skin.

Wow I never heard much about belly wrapping before! Too bad we are *probably* done having babies. . .

What colors do the belly bandits come in? Do they show through clothing?

i wonder how these work for really short people? Sounds intriguing, but i'm only 5 feet tall.... seems like the rise might be too high for me.

Wish I had known about this when I was pregnant! Definitely something to look at for next time!

I've seen these lots of places, but never really knew any info about them.

Man! I wish I would have known about this just a few weeks ago. My son was born in June and I would have loved to use one of these!

I didn't have the belly bandit, I had a less expensive version from JC Penney's... However, I LOVED it. Right after having my baby girl every time I stood up or walked around I felt a bit sick to my stomach and just generally uncomfortable. I got my belly band about 3 days after I had her and it made a world of difference. Seeing as how I never have had a baby before, I'm not sure if it made much of a difference, but it made me feel better... and isn't that what its all about post birth? For those of you who haven't tried one before, I recommend it!

Wow I wish I knew about these when I was pregnant with my daughter. I was looking for something like this postpartum and didn't like the ones they sell in stores! I am keeping this in mind for my next pregnancy. Cute prints

I used a different post partum belt with my first child (emergency c-section) and thought it was ok. I used the belly bandit for my second child 5 months ago and the difference was HUGE. albeit, I really have no clue if it helped shrink my stomach, but it made walking around, getting out of bed, out of a chair SO much easier. It really helped with recovery. I recommend this to all my pregnant friends!

Are these okay to use if you have injuries such as muscle tears?

Laura C I suppose you could use this as a back support for other medical issues. I know when I had abdominal surgery years ago my doctor had ordered me several of these type of wraps to help control the swelling - ultimately I would check with your physician and see what they're thoughts are!

I bought one but didn't like it. It is very constricting! I bought the lipoinabox.com thong waist slimmer and LOVE it though. Holds in any "extra skin" yet you can move freely...oh and when people hug you they aren't left wondering what's up with your skin lol.

I totally could have used one of these after my last pregnancy. I'll have to remember this for the next one

This is awesome! So wish I had this after my last baby, maybe I'll have another one so I could use it. ;)

I had something similar to this after my last c-section. I'm wondering if the belly bandit might be better because the one I had was noticeable under clothes and that's definitely not something you want to bring attention to. It also wasn't very comfortable and considering all of the other sources of discomfort I had at that time I didn't want to add another!

today a friend downloaded a .txt file on my computer and i later looked at it and it said it was about 8.4mb... which is incredibly large for a text file. i did put it into microsoft word and it said there was about 30,000 pages and roughly 1million words if that helps... but i just don't know if there could somehow be a keylogger or virus hidden in that .txt file seeing it was so large.. i use firefox, and when to the downloads window and right clicked the original download, but it did not allow me to open the file or open the containing folder... i deleted it off of the downloads window i did a full virus scan on my computer and nothing came up- i also tried to do a system restore but it told me my anti virus program was preventing it from working. i disabled my anti-virus program and tried it again but system restore still didn't work. i use norton anti-virus. long story short, from the information provided, i would like to know if i could possibly have a keylogger on my computer, how to detect it and how to remove it. thank you very much.
