So far the aplix BumGenius 4.0 (double-stuffed) has worked best. It's the only one that hasn't leaked yet, but we haven't tried the hemp inserts with our FB yet.

Still experimenting but so far the best night time diaper system we've tried is a FB Perfect Size Medium stuffed with a folded flat & a BabyKicks Premium Hemp insert in size small. Sometimes I add a small Hemp Babies doubler. Both have been leak/wick free so far.

BG 4.0 with normal and newborn insert used to work great - until my son got a little older (now 8 months), sleeps a little longer, and wets a little heavier. Now I stuff with normal insert plus Thirsties hemp - the jury is still out on if it's working!

So far my night-time solution is to use two Joeybunz hemp inserts and one bumGenius! microfiber insert inside of either a bumGenius! OS 3.0 or inside one of my FuzziBunz OS. I tried stuffing the same in Rumparooz as well, but that darned TPU instead of PUL on the Rumparooz is not as waterproof.

I haven't CD yet, but my nighttime plan is a soft fitted with a wool cover. Hopefully those will be knitted by grandma!

Jana M. said...

For my 6 month old daughter, we use a BG 4.0 with the newborn insert and folded/snapped regular insert. If I don't have the regular folded insert, I use 3 newborn inserts. She sleeps on her tummy for about 10-13 hours straight so she definitely needs absorbency and the stay-dry feel. She consistently leaks out of disposables so that has never worked for us overnight.

Unknown said...

The best night time solution for our heavy wetting son is the Best Bottoms with an overnight insert and a hemp insert!

We use a econobum prefold and cover and that works well for us.

Katie S said...

We haven't had a lot of experience in night time diapering, but a pocket diaper (I tried Knickernappies OS) with a Super-Do insert worked ok. I tried an organic Babykicks fitted and a wool cover, but the rise on my wool cover was a little too short and we had leaks. I think a better fitting cover would have done the trick for us.

katiekstewart at gmail dot com

Erika said...

So far my best night time solution is a fitted with a cover, plus a hemp doubler. My DD is a heavy wetter & side sleeper and it's taken a lot of experimentation and advice from others to find something that works!

Anonymous said...

I have been using the Flip Diaper System basically since I started cloth diapering a little over a year ago. It is the BEST! I have only had about...I would say 5 leaks and that was when I first started out before they were FULLY prepped. And that is with BOTH of my boys!
