bum {flip'in} genius

bumGenius is storming the cloth diaper world with TWO brand new one size diaper products; Econobum and Flip!In an effort to meet the growing demand for more affordable and convenient cloth diaper options, bumGenius delivers! The Econobum is a one size diaper cover and prefold and will retail for $9.95! The diaper covers have snap closures and are made with the same high quality PUL material as other bumGenius products (only available in white).

Take the guesswork out of how many prefolds and covers you need, purchase the Econobum diaper kit which includes 1 dozen prefolds and 3 covers for only $49.95. This is truly cloth diapering on a dime at it’s best!

For those who prefer convenience and flexibility then the Flip is the diaper for you! The Flip also features snap closures and provides you with 3 insert options! There’s no snapping an insert into place - just simple nestle the insert inside the cover and you’re ready to diaper! Time for a change? Simply remove the insert, toss in your pail, and insert a new one. You can choose between:
Stay-Dry insert. This insert features suedecloth on one side and super absorbent micro-terry fiber on the other (the suedecloth is what helps keep baby dry as it wicks away moisture from your little one’s bum).

Organic insert. This insert is made from 100% certified organic cotton; a great option for those who prefer to use only natural materials against babies skin.

Disposable insert. This is for those moments when using “cloth” is just not possible.. While we believe cloth is 100% doable - this is a convenient alternative for those times when you just really need a disposable option. The disposable inserts are sold separately (not available for purchase with a cover).

The Flip will be available individually; one diaper cover and 1 insert (your choice of a Stay-Dry or Organic insert)... or you can purchase a Day Pack with 2 covers and 6 inserts (price varies depending on the insert option you choose).

The hard part? Deciding which bumGenius product to choose! Sign up for our waiting list today and be notified as soon as the products are available for purchase: bumGenius Econobum individual or kit and bumGenius Flip Organic, Flip Stay-Dry or Daykits!

Wow, both of these sound so great. As I am thinking of building my stash, either (or both) of these would be a great a great option! I can't wait to see the reviews!

I get so many questions about cloth diapering. I love the BumGenius brand and I can't wait to share these new options!

I'm looking forward to hearing about the fit of these covers- same as the BG dipes or different. I'm not brave enough to try anything without hearing reviews first! But the ideas are great!

I love the bum genius line so i will be anxious to see how the reviews for these turn out. I'd like to get my hands on some to see for myself, but I think my hubby's cut off fluff money, as we took advantage of the buy 6 get 1 free sale, as it's time to rotate out of the medium 'sized' diapers we had. never know, though, we may be looking at another baby sometime in the future and it will be interesting to see how the BG line continues to change in the intervening time...

These diapers make me wish I "needed" more diapers. I can't wait to see more pictures and read reviews. I'm wondering things like

-Will the Econobum cover work with the sized prefolds I already have?

-Could I sew recycled cotton inserts for the flip cover? Sounds easier than sewing fitted diapers.

-Will more colors be coming? I like to buy mostly gender-neutral in case future children are girls (this one's a boy), but all green and/or white sounds boring.

It looks like all the size adjustment snaps match the fabric color- when they're white on colored fabric it's a big pet peeve of mine.

I'm super excited about these options. I can't buy more diapers now, but I will definitely be interested in these when I have another baby.

Excellent questions/comments everyone!

I, too, look forward to being able to test these diapers out!

Hannah: I'm sure you can use the prefolds you already have on hand. Essentially you would need to fold them to fit the diaper and you would likely have a bit of excess bulk - but you'd still be able to use them nonetheless.

Ameya: For all intents and purposes the fit should be the same as the regular bumGenius diapers - the primary thing that is changing is the lack of an inner stay-dry liner. However, I'll be more than happy to test them out and let you know one way or the other!

I really wish I could "test drive" the flip for someone. I'd love to try them out but my DD is getting close to PLing and DH doesn't want us buying anymore diapers. Ah well, I guess I can always try them with the next kid. I'm hoping for more colors by 2011 hehehe

I would love to get my hands on the flip, although I'm dubious about snap diapers. I also want to try smartipants, but have held off for the same reason. When I tried snap diapers before, I didn't like them, but these products might be what converts me!

Love the idea of the flip with the suedecloth. The reason I love pockets so much is the suedecloth or fleece that keeps my daughter's bottom dry. I love that this is a lay-in insert that will keep her dry. Excited to try them.

I can't wait to try these out! Especially the Econobum! I am really loving my prefolds and covers on my 11 month old and am always getting new covers! Poor DH just *does not* understand!

These both look great. I may be ordering some, especially the econobum!
